can anyone tell me the law on carrying first aid kits on passenger vehicles including local buses?
bus companies say that because they have to stop so often they don,t need to carry them (which sounds a bit iffy to me )

1. sure it comes under PCV rules and regs
2. i have never heard that taxis limos buses have to be equipt with first aid do you carry first aid items in your car?
3. they do have to carry them,as well as taxis and other public transport.but only a qualified first aider can use them.
4. There is no Federal regulation requiring First Aid Kits. I can't say for your local State, County, or City.
5. Local transit and intercity bus drivers stock up on tickets or transfers and prepare trip reports after reporting to their assigned terminal or garage. In some transportation firms, maintenance departments are responsible for keeping vehicles in good condition; in others, drivers check their vehicle’s tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, and water supply before beginning their routes.
Drivers usually verify that the bus has safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and emergency reflectors.

6. Laws vary by your location and the size of the vehicle. You offer insufficient information for good answer. Best source would be your local or state police.
7. That's a good question. I know commercial vehicles have to carry fire extinguishers and because our fleet of trucks didn't carry passengers, we never installed first aid kits.I would imagine commercial vehicles that carry passengers might carry them but I don't remember any rules or regulations saying they have to carry them.
I'd check with your state's DMV.
8. if they had to have a frst aid kit then they would need to hve a member of staff who was first aid trained, that would be the driver then as they are the only staff there. do u want to pa for all the drivers to be trained in ur fares?? or can they not just stp and call for help as they do now in the occasionally istances they may need to.
