I took the CNA course/clinical at a hospital nursing school 6 years ago and earned my diploma. It was a pre-req for the RN program, which I began but I had to put it on hold to raise my family.
2 kids later...I worked part time at a mental health facility tutoring patients. I never actually took the certification for my CNA after I got my diploma.
In the state of NJ, can I be eligible to take the CNA board exam for certification without repeating the class even though it has been 6 years? I can't find any information where it gives a time limit for this, there is only info for time limits after you are CNA certified.
My cousin is a dr and I can brush up my clinical skills with him if this is a possibility that I can just take the exam... I really believe I can pass the exam. I also can't find any CNA courses around me (the hospital nursing school only offers it for pre-RN students)
One day I do want to become an RN still, but this is just a first step after being a stay-at-home Mom for so long!
Thank you for any help or do you know what number I can call to get this info? Thank you.
