Please help me with NURSES AID certification question?

I took the CNA course/clinical at a hospital nursing school 6 years ago and earned my diploma. It was a pre-req for the RN program, which I began but I had to put it on hold to raise my family.

2 kids later...I worked part time at a mental health facility tutoring patients. I never actually took the certification for my CNA after I got my diploma.

In the state of NJ, can I be eligible to take the CNA board exam for certification without repeating the class even though it has been 6 years? I can't find any information where it gives a time limit for this, there is only info for time limits after you are CNA certified.

My cousin is a dr and I can brush up my clinical skills with him if this is a possibility that I can just take the exam... I really believe I can pass the exam. I also can't find any CNA courses around me (the hospital nursing school only offers it for pre-RN students)

One day I do want to become an RN still, but this is just a first step after being a stay-at-home Mom for so long!

Thank you for any help or do you know what number I can call to get this info? Thank you.

1. So many things have happened in the last 6 years. You will probably need to take the certification again. Its just a couple weeks and only $600. Check out educate2earn.info. Choose the schools that you are really interested in and request information. If nothing else an administration officer will be able to tell you if you need to take the course again.
