I am a nurse aid in PA. Does my certification transfer to other states?
In PA you are added to a nurse aid registry.

1. Each state has individual regulations governing the registry or licensure of nursing aides/assistants.
An example would be, if you were to move to Texas, your current certification and registry in PA would be evaluated to see if it meets the Texas standard, if if does, then you would be placed on the Texas registry.
You would need to check with the agency which manages the registry/licensure of nursing Aides/assistants in the state to which you are planning a move. Most states monitor this occupation under the Board of Nursing or the Department of Human Services.
2. Yes it should depending on what requirements the state you are moving into has. In some states CNA's pass meds, you may have to further educate yourself for that. You will need an application for reciprocity in the new state your are moving. Check the website for their nursing assistants, to get the application or call a nursing facility in the town you are moving, the HR director may have a copy and be able to give you some direction. It also a good way to get your foot in the door at that facility.
