CPR/First Aid/AED Certification Online?
Is there an online course that will legally and legitimately get you qualified for CPR, First Aid and AED? And I'm looking for like a beginner course, not a renewal course.

1. Even if there IS a online course, I would never trust someone to give me CPR without actually having practiced on a model "dummy". When you learn CPR, you need to know WHERE you hands should be placed and how much pressure to apply (so as not to break any ribs, or to know how to tilt the head to give air to the lungs and NOT to the stomach). There's just TOO much you would miss by taking a CPR class online, you lose invaluable practice on structured "dummies" that teach you correct position and pressure.
If you really are serious about learning how to "save a life", do it right and taking an actual course. You're putting someone's life in your hands if you do not learn the proper technique.
2. There is not a clean simple answer for this.
There are several on-line groups that offer certification in CPR, etc. The certificate is 'legal and legitimate', but not necessarily worth anything.
You see, for a certification to 'mean' anything, someone has to accept or recognize it, and very few places accept or recognize on-line CPR for many reasons- mostly because the 'accepted' certifications involve hands-on practice with an instructor who is making sure you are doing it right, and the instructor is held accountable to a national accreditation program.
It is kind of like free on-line ordination in certain churches. It is legal and legitimate, but there is not a denomination that will hire you as a minister based on it!
3. Good question. Yes some On-line CPR programs are a legal form of CPR instruction and are accepted in many locations. This said, I believe direct psychomotor (hands-on) training is the best method of providing solid training to participants. I have seen so many "confident" students provide poor cpr technique when challenged to actuallperformrm it. The American Heart Association requires both cognitive (understanding) and psychomotor (hand-on) evaluations. I agree from personal experience also. Rockford Ambulance gives monthly CPR and First classes in the Grand Rapids Area (MI) with CPR First Aid AED Certification from the American Heart Association. Thanks
