1. well most of those certifications expire every year so you must get it renewed. cpr and first aid for sure expire. so you might as well get recertified in everything. Good Luck!
2. There is no certification in NYS for First Aid/CPR/AED. The AHA and Red Cross do training and they give you a little card to make you feel special, but there is no certification requirement to render first aid, do CPR or operate an AED.
The lowest level of certification in NYS is CFR.
Cheers.
3. no your cert works anywhere and as long as you are in your scope of training you are ok you dont have to get a recert but it is always fun to see how things change for fun so you might try it somewhere else it could be fun.
4. As long as you are certified by the AHA then you are good to go!
5. If you were certified by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association, then yes, your cert is just as valid in New York as it is anywhere else. All that means is on the date you were certified you passed the test and you knew the skills. You can re-certify when your card expires with the recertification process; you won't have to go through another class. But as mentioned above, there is no real requirement for certification to provide those levels of care. First Responder is the lowest level of state-recognized care.
