1. Try contacting a local red cross for information or a local hospital may be able to help. I had to do my for school and we did it over a course of two weeks. It depends also what kind of training in first aid you want.
2. I took a first class called Emergency First Responder that was about $75. Learned CPR, primary and secondary care, etc. and got it done in a day.
3. It all depends on who, what, where, etc. The standard First Aid course by the American Red Cross is normally around $30.00 alone, and when attached to a CPR course about $50.00 (Highly Suggest). Most courses can take about 6-10 hours depending on the type of course chosen and the style of instructor. For instance, the American Red Cross' Basic First Aid with Adult CPR/AED is approximately 6.5 hrs. You can check your local ARC chapter, as well as other organizations such as the YMCA or local Fire or EMS Services for some other ideas.
The course will go over some basic "Hurry cases" as well as the procedure to stabilize certain injuries and situations such as simple (closed) fractures, and the like.
