When doing a 4 day hse first aid course what will you have to do on the day of your exam?
and also what questions are you usually asked?

1. As I recall, we had to put someone in the recovery position, perform resusitation on 'Resus Annie' and also put a sling on someone.
2. On my first day it was basics - CPR, slings etc.
The rest were incident scenes - the steps to do when confronted with an accident, how to decide who to help first etc etc, and more varied methods of treatment - tourniques, etc.
3. the first aid at work exam has three parts CPR following the protocols learnt and then place someone in the recover position.
then there is the first aid practical exam, you will given a brief of an accident and you must treat the casualty.
you may have an unconscious casualty, treat as you would but remember to look for danger first and make safe and put your gloves.
if a conscious casualty look for danger and make the scene safe, get history off the casualty or people that there, put your gloves on treat injuries in the correct order breathing, bleeding, bones and others. treat for shock dial 999, and after that is done restock the first aid kit and fill in the accident book.
question asked can vary and are used to check your knowledge eg what side would you put casualty with a sucking wound to chest on. what would you do after dealing with the accident.
4. From my experiences it usually would consist of some basic questions on what ever topics you went over (CPR, AED, bleeding control etc.). A short class like that isn't usually to in depth but the exam is mostly just to make sure you got something out of the class
5. just finished one. they ask you to do c p r and recovery position, what do you do in case of shock and heart attack, and of course bandages and slings, they might ask about electric shock. good luck...
6. you show how to treat a person and then they watch a DVD of a accident they u go into two groups and role play it could be a car accident or a bar brawl it fun they also have the dummies for u to use as the kiss of life and as how to treat a a baby who as stop breathing it not a real baby course
7. There is a practical component which is varying types of bandaging and slings techniques and as well as demonstrating the correct CPR procedures, as well as the correct procedure in rolling someone into Lateral/Recovery position (on side)and a theory test.
The theory test can either be a written or multi choice, and will ask questions on what you were taught through out the course such as;
How would you manage a person suffering from severe burns?
If someone has fainted do you raise the victims head or feet?
Some instructors will also set up scenarios for students to identify dangers, as well as identify and manage the victims condition. I always include some sort of scenario for my students as part of their competency especially for level 2 and 3 First Aid qualifications.
8. i am a FAI and everyone can ask you different questions, (they are no set questions.
you will have to do i small written and them a small practical
