Re-certify Adult CPR card online at American Red Cross?

I need to recertify for Adult CPR. Someone said you can recertify online at Red Cross and that it is much easier to recertify than to take the course over again. Is this true? I looked on the site but couldn't find anything. Please help! Thanks.

1. I am an American Heart Association CPR instructor ( Not Red Cross ) but as far as I know, you must attend an actual class and be evaluated by an instructor... Again, can't speak for the red cross, but that doesn't sound right to me

2. You can recertify online at www.procpr.net

3. I would say if you are just wanting to re-up your certification there should be an oline website for that. I mean if you have gone to the classes one or twice, there should be a way to do that and not have to sit through the whole thing again. They should have an online test and allow you to take it. If you pass the questions then they should allow you to continue to be certification. Heck I sat through 4 classes in like 7 years when I worked at a hospital. I mean it is not that difficult you just need to make sure you are doing it right. I would suggest that you go to a class again. There have been several studies done that seem to show chest compressions are they key more so than the breathing. They may have changed some of their curriculum in order to help save lives. I mean BSL is not that difficult. If you were having to get your ASL then yeah I would hope they would make people set through classes each time. For your BSL (basic life support), I think there should be a way to re-new your certification. Good luck. =)
