Is the American Red Cross really a non-profit organization?

Also, how much does the American Red Cross invest in their organization? (wages and operational costs)

Public Comments

1. this should tell you what you want to know

2. American, English, any nationality of the Red Cross are all non profit making and they have to rely on Donations to keep running they are all Volunteers

3. like most, if not all nonprofits in the US, it is largely a waste of money, used by powerful elites as a lobbying tool, e.g., "vote for this and we'll make sure you get a 6 figure job at our nonprofit when your term is up".

even in the hypothetical scenario where US nonprofit organizations are /not/ a complete and total waste of money, one should always be wary of the vicious cycle of dependency that giving to charities creates.

people should be given opportunities to work, earn a living and provide for themselves. they should never, under any circumstances, be given money outright.
