CPR Certifications AHA versus American Red Cross?
I see a lot about American Heart Association CPR certifications. The class times do not work for me in my area. Is the American Red Cross CPR certification course respected?
Would a potential employer (Such as a summer camp) honor a American Red Cross certification as they would an AHA one?
Thanks.

1. I don't think it matters much as long as you are CPR certified. BTW Red cross does online classes too.
2. They are both the same as far as potential employer is concerned, from there consideration its just about there insurance demands it. If you are strapped for time you can even get a combo First Aid CPR card totally over the net for about $ 40. you have to take a short course on both and then take on on line test, boom your done and the card is perfectly good and legal for 3 years.
3. AHA is the way to go. They do the research and I think the class is better.
4. They are both widely recognized! KJL
5. AHA is the standard and only once that I know of was there any difference between it and Red Cross. I used to be an instructor for both but now just AHA.
the nurse that answered said the AHA course was better. I bet she has never seen the AHA tape for HEART SAVER CPR. It is probably the worst CPR tape I have ever used. Its done backwards and misses checking for life totally
6. Assuming you are comparing the classes apples to apples, they are all based on the same research, although there are some differences in the actual content.
Both offer a layperson's class, professional rescuers class, etc. Most employers take either of these, or the National Safety Council's classes equally.
