How fast was the American Red Cross in getting your husband or someone you know home in an emergency from Iraq
My husband and I are expecting a baby in Jan. and it is a high risk pregnancy we already were told from History. If it turns out to be an emergency has anyone ever had to call Red Cross to have a Soldier home fast? If so how hard was it to do and how quick was it?

1. Personally I have not used red cross but from everything i understand it would not take long at all it would be fairly quick. I would say within a couple of hours.
2. most likely the baby will be borned all ready try to have him take leave then
3. If your husband is out at sea or in Iraq, the red cross will have to locate and contact your husband's command first, and than his command will fly him back asap, due to some circumstances it might be delay, but none the less they will do the best to get him home asap.
4. congrats! hope everything goes well.
5. my husbands grandmother died while we were in japan she raised him after his mother died when he was a child..the red cross was contacted so that we could go home to the funeral..they never contacted anyone...we found out from his dad..and there happened to be a huge snowstorm that paralyzed the east coast and we were unable to go home anyway...not sure that having a baby will get him home..people have babies all the time while their husband is in iraq...
