How long does it take for the American Red Cross to send your donor card?

This was my third donation but first time with the Red Cross. It's been 9 weeks, and still nothing!

If I call them, will they be able to tell me if my donation went through? I don't think I have the post-donation paper with my blood code on it anymore...

P.S. I am wondering if something happened to the donation because I found out I am anemic (iron deficiency) and have high liver enzymes.

Public Comments

1. I had my blood drawn in mid-march, and the card did not come until june.

2. If it means anything I am having the same problem.

3. They are usually very quick to tell you if there is something wrong with your blood to prevent you from trying to donate again. Everything is probably fine; they're most likely just behind on the paperwork.

4. I think you should call them up and ask them if they know.

It takes 2-3 months to get your card, if I remember correctly.

Also, I think they are supposed to tell you if anything ends up being wrong with your sample, but they have a free 1-800 number so it can't hurt to call them to check and make sure.
