Does the American Red Cross hire nurses to work internationally?

I'm planning on working for the American Red Cross and I'd like to know if they hire nurses for the international relief work

Public Comments

1. Maybe. If you work for the local branches, you might not be going anywhere. If you volunteer or ask for it, you might just go places

2. Not as often as the International Red Cross does. Most American Red Cross nurses work locally in Blood Services but there are some in Disaster Services who travel to relief operations. These are mostly domestic assignments.

You can search American Red Cross jobs at https://sjobs.brassring.com/EN/ASP/TG/cim_advsearch.asp?partnerid=13914&siteid=5014

If you want an international assignment, look at the Services to the Armed Forces section.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies posts their openings at https://jobnet.ifrc.org/public/

These are rarely entry-level positions.
