what contents does a first aid box of a pre primary school has according 2 red cross standards?

Public Comments

1. "band aid"

what particular country, city that might be?

2. If this is a test I have just completed a first aid course and that answer is best left up to your teacher!!!!

3. I am not sure which country you are from, but I am a preschool teacher from Australia so I will answer from what I know. I did a quick search and the American Red Cross was the most informative, although they did not have anything specific for education centres.
I have put below what is found in a normal kit, but there are a few items that are not suitable / needed for a school based on Australian policies and regulations. (see the Astrix's and the notes below):

Absorbent Compresses (2 5"x9" dressings)
Adhesive Bandages (25 in assorted sizes)
Adhesive Cloth Tape (10 yards x 1")
Antibiotic Ointment Packets (5, approximately 1 gram each)*
Antiseptic Wipes (5 packets)
Aspirin (2 packets, 81mg each)**
Space Blanket
Breathing Barrier (with a one-way valve)
Instant Cold Compress***
Non-Latex Gloves (2 pair, size large)
Hydrocortisone Ointment (2 packets, approximately 1 gram each)****
Scissors
3" Roller Bandage
4" Roller Bandage
Sterile Gauze (5, 3" x 3" pads)
Sterile Gauze (5, 4" x 4" pads)
Oral Thermometer (Non-Mercury/Non-Glass)*****
Triangular Bandages (2)
Tweezers
First Aid Instruction Booklet

* Antibiotic ointment is not permitted to be applied to children by staff unless 1. The ointment is labelled by a pharmacist/doctor with the child's name, the dosage amount and dosage times, and 2. Written permission is provided by parent/guardian.
** Asprin is not suitable. We stock children's panadol and put a clause in the child's enrollment that the parents sign stating that if their child's temperature rises above 30degreesC and they cannot be contacted.
*** Instant cold compresses are very important. I would suggest investing in several. You need to either invest in re-usable ones and disposable covers (you can use paper towel or nappy liners) or spend lots of money on single use compresses.
**** Hydrocortisone Ointment is not allowed to be applied without proper paperwork and permission. See first point.
***** Oral thermometers are much better for children. Do not buy an instant ear thermometer as they are not acurate in children under 10 years.

Sorry this is so long, but I hope it helps a little!
