Is the Red Cross pet first aid class worth it?
I'm interested in taking the pet first aid class that it offered by the Red Cross. I'm curious to know if it is worth it or if is just like a how to wrap your pet in a towel before you rush him off to the vet kinda thing. I don't know a ton about pet first aid, but I also don't want to spend $32 and 4 hours for nothing.

1. I've never heard of that class, but if there is one I'm sure it will be worth it, I'm a pet lover and time and money is not important it's if my pet can get the help it needs I love my pet just as I do any other family member.
2. They will also teach you CPR on a model of a dog, but it applies to other species too. I just had to use the rescue breathing on my 6 month old ferret. Thankfully I had read up on how to do that. That and me being trained on adults, children and infants helped, but I wish I would've taken that class. Anyhow, I got the little fert breathing again. He was in respiratory arrest after being almost crushed by a heavy piece of furniture. I got him stabilized enough to get to the vet where he was getting treatment for the ensuing shock. The vet also took x-rays and my lil carpet shark made it.
That happened about a week and a half ago and I have been telling people ever since that I think those classes are worth more than what you pay for them, especially if you have pets. Hey, you never know, you might save a life some day.
