If I got my lifeguarding CPR/AED and First Aid certification in NYS and they require it be renewed annually?

but the american red cross certification lasts for two years and I live in Florida now and want to get a job in Florida is it actually valid or not?
The card they gave me says one year certification but i think thats just to remind you to renew it every year because you have to in New York.
Im just confused and want to apply for a job in Florida and if anyone knows anything about it please let me know.
