what are your emergency preparedness plans?
like safe spots to go to.

1. I'm going to use the Republican plan. Look for somebody who has supplies, and then take them away from them.
2. I live in downtown DC, so the most likely emergency I'll have to face is terrorism. I work halfway, on a straight line, between the White House and The Capitol. I also live just about 10 blocks north of The White House in the Dupont/Logan area.
I have two scenarios worked out for evacuating DC: One for an attack while at work, and one for an attack while home.
I always carry my backpack with me. In my pack I always carry about a weeks worth of my medicines, and I have a few hundred dollars sewn into the lining. If something happens while I'm out of the office, but in town, I can just hop of the first subway, heading ANYWHERE to get out of the immediate area. Then I can make my way, through the suburbs, to friends, or even a red cross shelter.
If I'm at work, our firm has a very comprehensive shelter in place plan. All their air ducts will be automatically sealed, and they've stock piled food and water for an indefinate stay. I also keep a few days worth of food at my desk, snack bars and such.
If I'm at home and a biological or radioactive is exploded in town, depending on where it is I'll either hunker down in the basement of my building, or head out of town. I always keep a "boogie bag" packed near my door, with water, food and a big old honkin' knife. If we are told to evacuate, I know the roads will be packed. I've plotted an escape route out of town, along the C&O Canal towpath, which heads out of Georgetown, DC, up into the hills of Maryland. I can just hop on my bike and pedal my way out of town. I doubt many people would think of the tow path.
Sure, I may sound a little paranoid, but just because you are paranoid doesn't mean someone's not out to get you.
3. getting ready to do some training actually (my yearly deer week in the George Washington Nat'l Forest) mostly camping hunting fishing (yes primitive camping teching my boys wood craft
4. Keep Calm and Carry On.
In the unlikely scenario a natural disaster strikes, we have a wood burning stove and firearms, and so, would be self-sufficient for some time.
In the event of terrorism, we live close by to London, the M25 lies nearby. Flee!
5. I think I would stay at my house since I live in the country, if not there, perhaps one of my aunty's houses since they also live in the country.
Generally people are safer in the countryside in time of crisis.
6. i just stock up on booze and cigarettes.
