preparing an earthquake emergency bag?

I just recently learned that we live right on a fault line, and I think it would be smart to put together an earthquake emergency kit that's easy to grab in case of an emergency and we need to get out.

our household includes:
me, my husband and our 2 small dogs. we live on the 2nd floor of a condo complex.

here is what i have so far...please add what else we will need:
2 gallons of water
crackers and protein bars
2 sweatshirts, 2 pairs sweatpants, 4 pairs underwear and socks
4 blankets
first aid kit
pack of AA batteries
Flashlight
Pocket knife
bag of dog food and dish
lighter

i plan to put all of this in a large duffle bag and store it in the hallway closet, which is right in between the living room and our bedroom.

1. idk

2. Swiss Army knife, magnesium fire-starter, matches, water treatment tablets, canteen, wrench so you can turn off the gas. It's a good idea to disconnect from the city water supply sometimes. Use the water in your hot water heater for your drinking water then. So you would need a curb key to turn off the water going into your water heater. Some kind of cooking utensils, and campfire gear. Soap.

3. Check out www.earthquakecountry.info/roots/step3.html, they have a pretty comprehensive list. The one thing you never find on a disaster kit list is a firearm. I have 3 such kits and each one has a firearm included.
