Would a first aid course by St John's Ambulance provide a basic certification of first aid?

I need it specifically for the duke of edinburgh award scheme, but would it provide you with a basic, general certificate in first aid?

1. Yes, the best thing to do is contact your local office. They will train DofE people ALLA the time so will be able to advise you on the best course.

Just type in st johns ambulance online, and it will have contact details for your local office.

2. I think it does. I did a five-day St John course years ago and that was to be the first-aider for my office. As the other answer says, why not ring them up or go online and see if there are different kinds of courses and what yours qualifies you for?
