Are you supposed to carry your First Aid/CPR certification card everywhere?
Hi, I was just certified in First Aid and CPR, and I was wondering if I am supposed to carry the card with me everywhere I go like in my wallet. As I understand, it's helpful to prove that I'm there to help and to prevent being sued. But really, do I need to have it on me every single day?

1. I keep mine in my wallet in my purse, which is usually always with me when I'm out and about.
2. I worked for a company that provided those types of classes. In class we ask that you do carry it on you at all times. If you work for a company that requires you to take those types of classes then you are required to have it on you at all times.
3. You can keep it with you, but you do not have to. No one will ask you to see your CPR card if you actually come into a situation where you need to perform CPR. You don't need a CPR card to perform CPR, anyway. And CPR card or not, there has never been a successful lawsuit against someone who has performed CPR. There are laws protecting you from that, and if someone attempted to sue you for doing CPR, they'd be laughed out of court. The only time that may happen is if you do something grossly negligent like trying to cut a hole in someones neck and stick a pen through it like they do on TV. But just doing compressions and maybe some ventilations, you don't need your CPR card for.
