Red Cross Involvement Good for Med School?

I just got a job working hourly for the American Red Cross teaching CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding classes. I actually live where the first chapter of the ARC was founded in the United States. I'm 18 years old. I plan on going to med school in 4 years or so for a 7 year, course of studies for 2 degrees including PhD and MD degrees. Anyways, by working for the American Red Cross, will that help me get into med school? Please understand that I started taking ARC classes when I was 13 and have always had a love for health and medical related things.. and I like researching health topics and medicines. Do I need to have more community involvement or does working for the Red Cross fulfill?

1. Yes, if you have the grades and the MCAT scores to get in. You will be able to include your experiences teaching these things in your personal statement. Any kind of medical-related experience is relevant for med school and will definitely be something you can put on your resume no matter what field you go into.
