Whats a good first aid slash emergency medical technique book to study?

I'm going to school to be either a firefighter or paramedic, I haven't started any medical classes yet but I wanted to get a bit of a head start so I know what all the teachers are talking about from the get go. I'm looking for something that has some detail, most of the books that I've found so far are extremely basic. If anybody knows of a book that has some really good information in it that would be a huge help! Thanks!

1. Why not pre-read the course text? Other than that, any Occupational First Aid Attendant or Emergency Medical Responder text will cover the basics. Make sure you understand your scope of practice though!
