Question about emergency first aid...?

Hello, I am planning to take a course very soon. I'm just curious, if someone went into cardiac arrest and you performed CPR and used an AED, if they become responsive (eg gasping for air etc.), what do you immediately do to maintain their vital signs until EMS arrives?

1. Keep the airway open, keep the aed attached do NOT remove it. Keep the patient calm.
