who wrote the emergency medical first aid act?
:) need help for sports med homework! The act states that: Protects volunteer athletic first Aider from liability in the event of something going wrong if they in good faith, do the best they can in providing emergency care.

2. Here's an idea: how about if you tell people what COUNTRY, what STATE you live in, then people can answer usefully.
In any event, no one person writes a law these days, they are drafted by lawyers, tinkered with by politicians, debated in committees, and finally scrutinized by the whole legislature involved. Ay every step small and large changes are made, so every person involved helped to 'write' the law.
3. I've worked in emergency services for over 25 years and have never heard of this "act" you speak of. In fact, I've never heard of an "athletic first aider" either. Anyone who is licensed or certified to perform first aid, ie: EMT, Paramedic, First Responder, is trained to a "standard". As long as this standard of care is met, there is no issue. The Good Samaritan Act is for the layperson, someone who just stops to help, yet has no formal training. They can be sued, as can anyone these days, but these cases never go anywhere as these individuals have no "standard" to meet. The only thing that would really protect anyone from liability is proper practice and a good malpractice policy.
