How do you survive in the jungle/wilderness like Tarzan?

I know you would need a tent, machete, a couple other people, cooking materials, buckets, first aid kits, pocket knife, spear, clothes, cases, and many other survival supplies. But, what would one do in the jungle/wilderness? Am i missing any supplies? Any survival tips and techniques? Thanks!:)

1. To survive like Tarzan, you need only yourself and Cheetah The Monkey to pick up the slack.

2. You forgot to mention your loin cloth:)

But really you might want:

A compass or GPS system and maps

Sturdy boots and changes of socks as well as hiking sandals one thing you don't want is your feet getting infected!

Lots of mosquito repellent.

Gum

High Carb/Protein Mix food and snacks that are portable and leave little trash

On the knife you want more than a pocket knife, something sturdy with a large serrated blade you can strip saplings leaves etc make forks in branch and the like as a hatchet. The machette is for hacking and pocket knife for very small things.

You will also want a tool kit in case of repairs needed. The staples like both types of head screw drivers, mallet (tent stakes), pick hammer, regular and needle nose pliers, wrench.

Flash lights and batteries

Extra tent stakes

Rope and lanyards

Gloves in case you need to protect your hands at some point as in sliding down a rope or climbing

Water bottles with filtration system/water filtration system

Instant meals (army type) instant cooking source

Something to read

Fire building material in case of lots of rain

Some type of method to reach civilization.

More than just a first aid kit. Specialized things like an epi pen in case of anllergic reaction snake bite kit anything specialized to the area you are visiting.

Malaria shots prior to going if in the jungle.

Large comforatble packs with places to attach items like rope, water bottles etc

Water proof watch with (a good place to save room and get built in GPS/Compass)

Waterproof containers for your items like firestarter, matches, maps, gps, etc.

3. Everyone seems to be forgetting that Tarzan, Lord Greystoke, was adopted as a baby by apes and raised in the jungle. He didn't need any of the things that everyone lists, even though they would make life easier, assuming that you could move them around. I'm surprised that people are not saying that you need an ATV, electrical generator, TV, and a gas station on the corner. C'mon, for bare survival,, you need a hunting knife. Period. In a pinch, you could even do without that. Oh, yes, one more thing. You need a knowledge if the plants and animals in the area, so you don't have to spend hours testing each new plant to determine whether it is edible. The tropical rain forest is productive and diverse and easily capable of providing all your needs.

If you want a modicum of luxury, pick up one of the military survival manuals and see what they recommend.
