1. I didn't know they gave certificates for Animal cpr and first aid, but if the do call your local animal shelter and ask them.

4. Here in Canada, I recently took a "mini-vet school". The short answer is that there is very little in North America in this line, and what little there is is in the regular veterinary colleges.
The detail is that you cannot take human first aid and apply it to animals, and once you learn one animal, not a lot is transferable to a second species. Add to this the fact that animals communicate differently, and do not always display symptoms. (if an animal displays symptoms of pain, it is usually a target for a predator).
So if you know what types of animals you want to treat, take an intro vet course speciializing on those animals, and it will give you general guidelines, but you may not get a lot of first aid specifics.
