Do american red cross CPR instructors get paid? How old is the minimum age to get certified?

I'm a 17 year old EMT in CT, and I can't get a paid EMT job, only volunteer, until I'm 18, so just wondering if i can get a cpr instructor job.

Thanks!

1. A lot of adult education courses offer CPR and might have openings. Try calling local towns that offer CPR training and see if they need to hire another instructor.

2. I'm a paid instructor for the Red Cross, but I don't do hiring, so I don't know age limits but I bet it is 18 minimum. Most of us are 'part-time on-call' at our chapter. Some are volunteers, and some of us get paid. I started at $8/hr if I remember right and raises have not been frequent (non-profits are not often big on raises, especially if the economy and donations are down).

I average about a 8 hours a week. The few full-time instructors tend to do a bit over 40 hours a week.

The instructors class takes three days and has a fee of $225.

You can also try the National Safety Council and other agencies.
