Giving $ to emergency relief to aid Gaza and Lebanon a crime in US?

I want to donate to a charity that gives emergency relief aid to widows and orphans in Gaza and Lebanon. However i want to be sure i am not breaking U.S. law by doing so. Is this OK? I have heard stories about American citizens giving charity to this region and being incarcerated.

1. You have to be sure that the U.S. does not consider the charity a front for a terrorist organization.

There must be a list somewhere of charities that are okay. Contact your state's department of state which oversees charities to see if they have any information.
