American Heart Association and American Red Cross in regards to CPR?

Have First Aid and CPR training from the Red Cross. Never knew that AHA had training as well. There is one down the road, and will have to renew my CPR for the year soon. Was thinking of taking the class. Is there a difference between the courses? Is one more widely accepted than the other? Thanks for the feedback.

1. They are teaching the same courses. If you can always take a class online to save the time and money from having to seek out a Red Cross or AHA class.

There are several good online courses. I used National CPR Certification.

It seems rather straight forward.

Just make sure you use a Nationally recognized class.

2. Be careful with on-line programs, they are often not recognized by your company or school.

AHA classes are slightly different than Red Cross, for example, they certify CPR for 2 years while the Red Cross does it for a year. The biggest difference is that the Red Cross classes are usually easier for most people to take while the AHA usually teaches in hospitals or with private individuals apart from their office (The office locations are usually for services besides classes.)
