first aid/CRP/babysitting classes-red cross or internet?

I signed up on a babysitting site and they say you are more likely to get job offers if you are first aid and CPR certified. So I would like to get certified for adult, child AND infant CPR and first aid but there are so many options!! Many websites offer CPR classes now in addition to the red cross. Which is better and/or cheaper? Does one offer more? (like adding infant CPR?)

Also, I'm 19 but I've never taken a child care or babysitting class. I would like to learn how to care for children under 3. How do I go about doing that?

Public Comments

1. red cross is the only one that most companys will honor. alot of the online classes suck.

2. A live "hands-on" CPR class is far superior to just reading about how to do it. Naturally, it will cost a bit more because... you get what you pay for.

Your local Red Cross Chapter will be able to tell you when and where classes are offered in your community. The Red Cross also offers baby-sitting classes which might be worth looking into.
