what are the requirements to become an EMT?

I'm already a Red Cross first aid/CPR/AED instructor. In january I'll be taking a first responder class, and from there I'll become an EMT basic instructor. Where do I go from there to become an EMT?

1. You might try asking one of the EMTs at your local fire station what the requirements are in your state/province/area of the world. I do know that in some parts of the United States local community colleges offer EMT training, but this might not be true everywhere and I don't know if you are in the U.S. , so your best tactic would be to consult someone already working as an EMT in your locality.

2. the intensive emt course is like 6 months or less at a trade school

in the army our training was 8 weeks and then 6 months work under supervision at a hospital
