In florida do you need a certification to be able to administer an epi pen to *SOMEONE ELSE*?

Florida enviornmental first aid certification test

1. As far as I know that would fall under the good Samaritans laws in each state which are in place - if you're put in the situation you would be doing a good deed by helping the patient (victim).

2. I seriously doubt it. The whole purpose and design of epi-pens is so that anyone can give it to someone in an emergency.
I'm a teacher, and all we get is a brief explanation of how to use one from the nurse, if we have a child who carries one in the school.

3. I think so...the Good Samaritan Law MAY protect you, but it depends on the level. I think you have to be EMT-Basic or higher certified.

4. Good Samaritan laws most likely will NOT protect you if you are not certified to administer and EpiPen. Your local Red Cross will have a course that will certify you to do so. To find one near you, go to www.redcross.org.
