WHY won't the American Red Cross offer CPR training to blind people? I tried to ask them and never got a reply?
The American Red Cross refuses to give CPR training to blind folks, WHY? Asking them results in nothing. They didn't even acknowledge several emails asking for information. Are they afraid that blindness might be contagious?

1. I have not seen anything in any of my materials that says we will not offer classes to the blind, but as far as i can tell, our materials are not available in Braille, etc.
Because so much of our training program is based on videos, illustrations, etc., there might be a concern we could not properly educate a blind person.
There is also a policy that if a person cannot properly perform the skills unaided, they cannot be certified.
It would be interesting to see if a blind person could perform CPR to standards without being able to see anatomical landmarks, etc.
