How does a C.N.A. license compare legally with a First Responder license?

A person with First Aid certification is legally required to notify a certified First Responder if one is available when providing first aid. So if I have a Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) license, am I under the same legal obligation?

1. No your not. Your only obligation is to the resident that you are caring for in a home setting or in a nursing home.

2. CNA's aren't part of the EMS system as First Responders, EMTs, Paramedics and ER staff are. If you're at work, you have procedures to follow regarding people who need medical care, but if you're out an about, it would probably be best to activate the EMS system and let it run its course without even mentioning being a CNA.
