Parents: Would you hire me as a babysitter?
I'm a fourteen year old girl looking to make some extra money. I hung several babysitting fliers around my small town and told my neighbors who have children that I'm available for babysitting, but I've only had one job so far.
I have five younger brothers and sisters, and one of them has Down Syndrome, so I have experience taking care of special needs children and infants. I took a babysitting course, and I'm certified in infant, child, and adult CPR. I also took a First Aid course at Red Cross. I get straight A's and I'm involved in my Church.
I know I'm young, but I love children. Would you hire me as a babysitter? If not, why?
I don't have a set rate, by the way. The one time I babysat I charged $7 and hour for three children.
And I've been putting up fliers for 6-8 months, it's not like I decided to do this two weeks ago.

1. No, because I have a perfect baby-sitter. Sorry!
2. This sounds like how I started out babysitting. Your only hindrance might be your prices, do you ridiculously overcharge? I started out as $5 an hour plus $1 per every other child.
3. I would definitely hire you if I was a parent.
However, it's late in the summer, so many parents probably already have babysitters for the summer.
4. no because i have my famly and ill be with my son when he gets out of the hospital most of the time
5. honestly, No. I am sorry, but I have family members and younger sisters who are willing to babysit, and at 14 I personally would not fully trust you with my children, I would want a babysitter who is atleast 16 years old. Most 14 year olds are too immature to even take care of themselves, I am not saying all, you could be different and be responsible and mature, but as a parent I want to know that my kids are as safe as they could be, especially if there is more than one child.
6. you sound good
7. I would hire you. You have a decent amount of training that will make my child safe, and you have tons of exprience with 5 siblings. Your rates are flexable so that's helpful. I would go around door to door or leave fliers at peoples houses to let them know you are available even on a part time every onve in awhile basis. Also have your parents type up a reference letter and have copies of your red cross certification to help parents know that you are what you say you are.
