Does anyone know how to get financial aid for the Red Cross CNA Training course in Los Angeles Ca?

Ok heres my Info Im a single dad with twins, Im out of a job & Im looking into taking the Red Cross CNA & Home Health Aid Training course. The Course runs around $2000 which is money I dont have. When I called the Red Cross they told me they dont offer any kind of Financial Aid or Grants. They did tell me that there are Financial Aid programs out there but I would have to find them on my own cuz they dont have any type of list. I dont know where to start to look short of going to the local welfare office & seeing if they have some kinds of program but that for me is a last resort. can anyone help me?

1. Nursing homes in our area offer free cna training. I've also heard some hospitals do. Get the phone book out and call around. $1,000. seems a bit steep.

Also, if your local community college offers such courses, you could qualify for a federal Pell Grant, or at least a loan. Go to their website and see what they offer.
