Walking business ?
I am going to start a Dog Walking Business in my area. I've heard from previous questions that Dog Walkers should get involved with a certain club and be "certified" or something as well as insurance... so what do i absolutely need to start it and where do i get it?
I already have a website planned, i know my rates and my competition, i am making flyers and cards. I know my limits and where i'm going to be doing my business. I just need to know what i need to be started officially (the certificate or whatever and insurance and where to get it.)
I'm also planning on carrying a pack with me including - extra collar(s) and leash(es), water, first aid kit, emergency numbers (dogs info), treats, cell phone.... anything else i should bring along?

1. You sound like you've done your research. However, you may want to bring poo bags with you to clean up after your clients. Not all dogs will poo away from their own yard, but when nature calls, you have to answer whether you're human or canine. Plus, if a dog owner sees you picking up puppy poo, they will think of you as a reliable, responsible dog walker and would be more apt to hire you, if needed.
You may want to consider having the owners sign waivers for vet care in case there is an emergency and have them provide an upper dollar limit as to the care you can approve prior to their arrival.
You will also want to have the owners provide proof of vaccinations (rabies, distemper, etc...) and make sure all the dogs are licensed in accordance with your local laws.
You will want to be insured and bonded. Your local town hall should provide you with the information you need as to where you can get this information. You will need this in case one of your clients lunges and bites a bystander.
