Is this price to small for babysitting? Parents what would you offer?
i'm 13 and i would like to start babysitting. i've practiced with family and i took red cross babysitting, standard first aid, and cpr child and infant courses. i was thinking about $2 per hour per kid or $2 per hour and $1 for every extra kid. How much do you think i should charge, and is this to small of an amount?
thanks for answering!!!

1. Its a pretty good amount. Remember, people are short on money these days (especially parents with multiple kids), and a small amount is going to make them more apt to call you than the girl who charges $30 a night..... You could always try a flat fee. Say the parents will be gone for 5 hours.. charge $10 or $15. Most parents are flexible and like flexible babysitters too.
2. when i babysit i usually let the parents decide on the price... i was gonna ask for $8 per hour (3 little girls) but they ended up giving me $10 so you never know
3. Depends on how big of an area you live in...
I charged anywhere from $10-$13 an hour. I live in an area where most parents are pretty well off. If you've taken classes and invested time in making sure you're providing the best care, I'd charge a little more then what you're planning. I think when I first started out I made $7 an hour. Most parents will negotiate a price...Good luck! Babysitting was my best job ever!
4. well...im in ireland so we have euro...put it this way..i get 30euro for a night (equivelant of about 50-55dollars) for 2 or 3 kids...
5. NO NO NO. alll wrong. u should charge $8 per hour, and dont charge by the number of kids either.
6. i think u should take whatever they offer times r tough right now adults need to get out and a liitle money in ur pocket would be good too
7. i babysat two girls for 4 hours and got paid 35 dollars. Just depends on how the parents see it and how comfortable they are with you and trusting.
8. I pay 5 an hour for 4 kids but I have 2 baby sisters at the same time. I think though that you should raise you price like start at 3/3.5 you don't want to sell yourself short.
9. no it`s good
10. i'd say.. $5.00 per hour...flat out...
11. I think that sounds fair if it's a regular thing. Like every day, or every other day you watch the kiddos. Now for just a spur of the moment once and a while kinda thing, I'd ask for a little more.
When I watched my friends daughter when she was at school (college) I got paid 1.75 an hour, with a min of like 20-30 hours a week. Another friend I just watch their kids like once a month, and they usually toss me a $20 for 3 or 4 hours. So it really does depend.
12. yeah that sonds like a good price
13. I generally a flat fee of $10.
$8 for relatives!
