How much would you pay?
I am in 8th grade and am looking to be a babysitter. I have taken a Safe sitter course and am certified in Red Cross CPR and First Aid. I love children and need to make extra money. How much would you suggest I charge?? per child?

1. Around where I live, probably $1.50-2 per hour per child since you're young & not licensed.
2. I would personally cchanged the prices if i knew that the kids were hyper or wroudy...so it depends but U CAN GET RICH (8th GRADE RICH) OFF OF BABYSITTING...LOOK AT A DAY-CARE THAT CHARGES EXTRA FOR FOOD AND STUFF AND SEE WHAT THERE BASIC PRICES R...U WILL BE AMAZED
3. I would start at $2.00 an hour. Keep the house clean and tidy and do their dishes for them and they will brag you up to others, then raise your price up a bit.
4. charge like $7 an hour
5. 5-10 dollars per child per hour... thats good that you took those coarses and other things because most baby sitters dont even know how to do those things and they get paid like 50 bucks!
i honestly would pay more than what i said but people are stubborn and dont relize how fortunate they are and are very gready...
6. I would say about 3-4 dollars because kids are hard to tae care of just tell the person you'll work extra hard.
7. You need to find out what the going rate is in your neighborhood. Also, people will generally pay a 13-14 year old much less than a 17 year old. My daughter is 17, she babysits occasionally, but a family with 3 children pay her $9 an hour. But, she drives herself there, she drives herself home. If something happens (and it did once) she can take the children wherever. She's also more experienced.
8. This is how I pay my sitter...
$10 for the first hour and then $3 per child per hour thereafter.
This works great for multiple children. I have three, so if I am gone for 4 hours, the sitter gets $37.
If you were watching only one child, I would still suggest doing the first hour a little higher than the others because who wants to watch a child for an hour and only earn $2-5.
That's great that you have taken a sitter course and are CPR/First Aid certified...I would never let anyone watch my children with anything less.
9. I suggest you offer to pick kids up from the bus stop and keep them until their parents come home, they can pick them up at your house if your parents let you. that's a good way to start. I think you can get $20 a week for that, do $30 for 2 kids, $40 for 3. Make sure you stock up on kool-aid, sandwich stuff, chips, and cookies. Get the cheap stuff. Help them with their homework. But if it's on a regular day and they need someone to watch- it should be $10 for the day per child considering it's 8-10 hours. $20 if it's late at night like they won't be back until 1am and you might need to stay over.
10. At the very minimum, I would say $4.00 an hour and an additional $2.00 for each child.
Don't listen to the $2.00 per hour answer. You are worth much more than that!
11. $5.00 per hour.
12. if I need a sitter, I pay minimum wage PLUS the amount of children per hour so (12.15 per hour, 6.15 minimum wage plus 6 one dollar each for six children) this would cover food and other reasonable expenses.
