Do first aiders get paid more?
I passed my first aid in the workplace course with Red Cross last week. Whilst there, some of the other candidates were discussing varying bonus rates for passing the course - some said they'd be receiving a little more per month in their wages, some said they'd be getting a yearly lump sum.
I wasn't aware of a financial benefit for becoming a qualified first aider in the workplace - is this standard practice, or is it at the discretion of the employer?

1. Where I work first aiders can get up to 50 pence a hour bit I think it depends on the company you work for.
2. I agree it probably depends on where you work but, Its good to have that first aid training because it looks good when you go to job interviews. Also it is always good to know what to do in emergencies and how to stay calm and know what your doing. It helps the companies insurance go down and it keeps other workers safe.
3. For white-collar jobs - typically not. It is rare for a first aid qualified worker to be paid extra if the one qualified already is working for the company.
Even if you did get an increase, it would be very small.
