Wilderness First Aid Help?
I am currently taking a WFA Course for the Fire Department, and... I am just wondering if when you are treating someone for shock, do you test the spine and neck, while conducting c-spine as well as checking vitals?

1. I guess it would depend on what injuries they have. If you know for sure they did not fall then you wouldnt necessarily need to check the spine or c-spine them for that matter. If nobody is around and doesnt know why they are in shock it would definetly be a good idea to c-spine them and to check their spine and neck.
2. no.you would keep them as immobile as possible waiting for them to be transported.
3. If trauma was involved its a good idea to check c spine and spine, if no trauma was involved there is no reason to. In a wilderness setting just remember to put blankets etc under the patient as well as over. they lose more heat being in contact with the ground than they due into the air
