CPR/First Aid/AED Certification Online? Is there an online course that will legally and legitimately get you qualified for CPR, First Aid and AED? And I'm looking for like a beginner course, not a renewal course.
First aid and CPR certifications online? I ran into a few websites that offer free first aid and CPR certifications online, do people really honor these? They say their standards are the same as the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association, except for the fact that you do all the training online.
Can one get financial aid for online schools (specifically for medical transcription certification)? How? I am trying to find out for a friend if there is any federal or state (Michigan) financial aid or grants available for online schools (specifically for medical transcription courses). Any experience or suggestions in this regard would be appreciated.
Has anyone been certified online in cpr and first aid? Is this considered legal certification? I have taken the real in class test and gotten certified but it expired and I wanted to know I could just do an online one.
Where can I go for a free First Aid and CPR course (online)? I am about 15 years old and am trying to get a certification for CPR and First Aid, but everywhere I go, I can take the test free and the certificate is what costs. I would like to know where I can go for a free certificate along with a free course. Thanks!
Can I use Scholarships or Financial Aid for Online Courses? I want to take an online course and at the end of it I'd have certification and everything, so i wouldn't be taking anymore classes. I was just wondering if you can use Scholarships or Financial Aid for that.
Is there financial aid available to do medical transcription from an online school? I am interested in seeking a certification in medical transcription so I can work from home, but do not wish to go back to (& can't afford to) school full time for 2 years to do so and would like to get certified from a course such as Career Step or similar. I wondered if there is financial aid available to help pay for that?
How can I earn my HIV/AIDS Certification? Hi - I'm not a Nurse, but I need to earn my Certification in HIV/AIDS Awareness. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd love to do an online course, but I'm also willing to do a course at a campus, hospital, clinic, etc. (I'm in the NY Metro Area). Please let me know if you have any pointers! Thanks so much!

Online College Courses....? I am looking to fulfill required credits to start a certification in Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound. I will need to complete college level physics, algebra and biology. Possibly English if my credits for that won't 'roll over' since it was from about 13 years ago. Has anyone taken these online college classes and been able to use them to register for a certification class? Also, is financial aid available for online classes?
I want to improve myself through online education and certifications in certain areas. Money is a problem.? I am a college graduate with a degree that has nothing to do with my area's of employment over the last 30+ years. I am also a veteran who has no benefits due to the lapse of time. I am most interested in taking correspondence or online classes in speciffic areas that will include health, fitness, and wellness (I am a very good and experienced coach and personal trainer) as well as computer courses such as word, excel, and powerpoint. Finanncial Aid will be a must for me. Another question posed to me by a friend would be what financial aid options are available for convicted felons that have served their time and want to get on the right track to self sufficiency. She is a relative and will have access to my PC if it comes down to that. Thanks
Does any one know of an affordable online school (Regionally accredited) for Medical billing and coding? I have been to looking for an online program and i thought about AIU but im not sure becouse they are on probation and they never said their program prepare students for certification. I also looking to start an associate degree program that participate in federal finacial aid. Any suggestions from anyone who works in the medical feild?
Does anyone know of a Certified Ethical Hacker or Certified Computer Forensics program that offers financing? I have been looking at online Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) programs, and Certified Computer Forensics programs, but they all want a one-time payment of at least $1,000. I can't afford that, and you can't get financial aid on certifications. Are there any programs that have a payment plan? Please help! I really need to change careers!
Summer job for college student? I am home for the summer and trying to find a childcare position f/t or p/t but am failing miserably because I don't have cpr or first aid certification. What should I do? Online job sites are not helping... I need to get a job before highschool lets out because they'll take everything!!!!
World College (Online Computer Degree)? This is a distance education school, and I was just wondering will it be accepted among employers. They are a sub-division of Cleveland Institute of Electronics to offer bachelor degrees in Computer Information System with Network Security which has been around since 1934. CIE is actually qualified to give financial aid by the government, but World College is not because it's fairly new. I figured it has to be legit because of this, and they're also accredited by DETC and certified by the state council of higher education for Virginia. I don't need to know what schools will accept it after I achieve the degree; I've already checked that out. I need to know will it be worth the while, because it's the only thing I can afford right now considering they offer a low $125 a month payment plan. So, after I receive the degree, and all those computer certifications, will it make any difference to an employer that it's an online institution? Here's the link below. http://www.worldcollege.edu/
**Special Interest Question** Anybody out there with special knowledge on convicted felons and Financial Aid.? Would the school you are asking to attend be the best place to begin asking for assistance when a convicted felon wants to take classes or take courses that lead to certification programs in order to better themselves. ie, an individual wants to take a course online for IT or even refrigerator repair etc, etc, etc. I would think that many in society would be against helping convicted felons but on the other hand, with a trade or better knowledge in a specific area, the former inmate might be better prepared and desireous of a lawful occupation but just can't pay for it. It makes sense to me, how about some of you helpful sorts out there or even someone that has been through the process. Thanks.
Is the website CPR PROFESSOR legit? I need to get cpr, first aid, and aed certification. I don't have time to make it into a classroom, so I must do it online. I just want to make sure I don't spend my money on something that isn't legit.
How do I go about getting a disability parking sticker and permitted to have a service dog? I am a middle aged woman from Indiana who has a chronic physical condition that has recently gotten worse. I have bouts of pain and inflamation which restricts my movement. I have heard that I may be eligible for handicapped parking and to own a service animal. I do not really know how to start this. I am currently training a dog to do many of the tasks I need help with but how do I get a service dog certification? I tried searching online but did not find any answers. Do I start with my doctor, or government agencies or what? I know that there are programs in place that will aid me as my condition gets worse, but I don't know how to find out about them. I know how to train my new dog to help me to do what I need her to do, and I found the guidelines for how a service animals must be trained to behave. I can train her but how do I get her to be an actual certified service animal so that I can have her with me to do it? I don't know what to do to take it to the next level?
Is there anything i can do? Please help me? I was enrolled at an online University. I filed for the financial aid which covered my tuitions from Oct. 2007 until Dec 2008. In October 2008 i postponed the last class due to my financial conditions, first to Dec 2008 then to March 2009. Upon the suggestions of my Fin Aid counselor i filed for Loan Plus in Feb 2009. I was approved by the lender. The school certified the Loan Plus to cover the period Sep 1st, 2008 - March 13th, 2009 (seven months). The loan was also linked to the FAFSA 2007-2008 (that I had previously filed). At the end of February 2009 i sent an email to my financial aid office asking to release the hold from the Loan Plus so the lender could disburse the money to me, but they replied saying that i had to post to the last class left uncompleted from the last year (2007-2008), and after that they would have released the hold from the Loan Plus. I explained them that i was facing very hard time with my finances and that the only way i had to continue was to get the Loan Plus i had been approved for. They send me an email saying thay were ready to release the hold but I had to first complete the last class. With a huge financial sacrifice i register and complete this last class (4 days residency) and i post in class as they requested (signing). Once back home i start calling them and emailing the Fin Aid office of my school but i get no answers. I call then the lender from which i was supposed to get the loan and they tell me that the school had changed the date of the disbursement of one more month the day after I completed the last class! At this point i call the Fin Aid office asking for explanations. They tell me that i have to take another class, pay for the other class and then they will release the money. I make clear that the loan is linked to the passed school year, that i have their original certification for the disbursement (supposed to happen in March) and their emails. They stop replying me. To pay for my bills i had to leave the school and find a second job. They now want me to pay for a balance left: is there anything i can do? Evidence: - The lender can show the original certification date and the change happened after i completed the last class left from the first year; - The loan is linked by law to the passed school year (2007-2008) and cannot be linked to the new one (2009); - I have their emails where they explain they are going to release the hold from the loan as soon as i complete the last class of last year. - I have recorded all the telephone calls. Thanks
Should I go to technical school to learn a trade, or finish out my English degree at GSU with a small job? I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I've stopped qualifying for financial aid some time ago while attending Georgia State University two years ago, and now, my mother and I can no longer afford to attend a semester there. They stopped giving me money because they said I had dropped too many classes, and now, whenever I will want to go back to school, I will have to prepare to pay nearly $3000 a semester for full-time. I've been trying to find a job to make ends meet, mainly to pay my credit card bills, but, due to my very limited work experience (I've only done work-study at one university and I did some volunteering at a library for four months), I guess no one wants to hire me, especially in this economy, with people with degrees who have been working for years who are being laid off and taking anything THEY can get to make ends meet, so I'm competing with them, in a way, for the entry-level jobs. My mother's been hyping up doing a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA from here on out) program for months now, and it'd be something just to get my foot in the door and make some decent money to pay for everything so it could cut my mom some slack, but I don't really want to do it. I know next-to-nothing about what being a CNA entails, and the more I read about it, the more uninviting and demanding it sounds. I don't think I have the temperament or the people skills required (I'm not a people person) to run around in a medical center and keep track of people all day, especially the really elderly and/or infirm (Mom tells me being a CNA includes working in nursing homes); I'm not good in the sciences to begin with, so I don't want to take any state certification exams where I have to have memorized everything, and I don't want to do hospital rotations where I have not to particularly just do a good job, but to also suck up to corrupt instructors who may just give me a bad grade no matter how well I do because they have some personal bias (my brother said one of the instructors he had while he was doing radiologic tech was a racist who had problems with black people). I would prefer to qualify for an office or customer service job, instead; it would be simpler to just work in retail, but apparently, I could fill out online applications all day 'til my eyes and fingers bleed, but I never get anything out of it. I've never once gotten anything out of applying for a job online. At this point, I may come off as whiny, self-indulgent, and probably even pugnacious, but I only have the first two qualities when it comes to my family (hee hee :)); elsewhere, I'm a very hard worker, perhaps too eager to please when I'm in a working environment. I just don't want to work and be educated in an environment where I have to deal with stupid personal politics and may even suffer unfair treatment (which probably sounds like a tall order for life in general..). I want a job where I can be appreciated for the work that I do; I don't want to have to suck up to anybody or snap at testy people, because I find the former behavior degrading, and then, I'm too emotionally sensitive to even engage in the latter (and I know I will have to -- my brother has had to do so a few times). Mainly, I'm an English major at Georgia State (I'm overly verbose -- could you tell?), but I keep having the feeling while being there that there's no way I could get a job in my major. I don't know if it's really self-doubt fueled by the costliness of the classes, or just the fact that I hate doing core classes there, and I may have transferred out of my two-year college too soon. I keep thinking that maybe I should get a small certification or diploma from a technical college just so I could get a good-paying job with that to pay for finishing out my studies at Georgia State (plus, I'd have some practical skills in the meantime), but in the time I could get an Associates Degree, I could be finished with my Bachelor's, since I am a Junior at the moment. What should I do: should I get a degree or certificate at a local technical college to make ends meet for now; or should I just get a small job and pay my bills while somehow, my mother finds a way to pay my tuition while she will no longer have to cover my credit card bills? I know it's a lot of words, but thanks for reading. :)

how to become a certified computer technician? I've read a few books and search online on how to fix computers, either OS problems and some hardware problems. I've gotten OK at it so I do little odd jobs here and there when friends and coworkers have problems with their pcs. I would really like to become certified, but i'm not sure what the process is. I know there are a few books i could buy and a couple of tests i would need to take, but there are so many options as far as books and tests. Can anyone tell me how did you become certified, what kinds of certification are employers looking for(without having to go for years to a college or university) and which books i should buy? Also, is there any kind of finacial aid from anywhere that would help me?

Where can you get free CPR and First Aid training In CA.? IM looking for free CPR for adult and child w/ first aid. I tried the online sites but they want a fee for the certification. HELP! I cant afford the Fee....
How do I become an RN with a bachelor of science in health science degree? I have changed my major from teaching to the bachelor of science in health science. I ultimately would like to become a RN. Because I work full time (and I make more money than my husband) I am not able to attend a regular college at this point in time. What I am attempting to do is to complete the BSH degree online and then do some type of a bridging course to become a nurse. I think I will have to get my first aid cert, then CNA certification (I found a place that offers night classes for six weeks for that certification), and thats where I am stuck. With a BSH degree will I have to go back to college to become an LVN/LPN? And then I know I will have to do so many hours as a LVN/LPN before I can get certified as an RN. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me their understanding of how this all works. I am from South Africa originally and am just learning how the whole nursing field works here. I live in Georgia if that helps :) Thank you :)
What are some things an undergrad student can do to distinguish myself for med-school? I am currently 17 years old, a sophomore undergrad student in biochemistry. I am planning to either apply for medical school or do pharmacy grad school. I am leaning more into med school. I am wondering, with my age and sophomore standing, what kind of opportunities should I be able to do? I am applying for hospital volunteer work opps but the waitlist is pretty long. I haven't done a useful thing this summer, so I feel a little late. It is a little hard to find intership opportunities, and I am thinking many of the medical volunteer work require me to be at least 18. I am planning to get a CPR/first aid certification online. But aside from that, what else can I do? Any suggestions? Thank you. I need a few more fresh ideas..please.
Is it the same to get your CPR/First Aid certification online? I am thinking about getting CPR and First Aid certified online, but I am not sure if it is the same as if I took a class in person. Has anyone taken one of these classes? If so, and you recommend it, where is a good place to do it? I was previously a lifeguard so I have been certified twice before this, so I am very familiar with how things work.
Can I get money for an online certification course? I am interested in taking an online certification course through the International School of Handwriting Analysis but cannot afford the course. This is not a college so I cannot apply for government aid. Does anyone know of any type of financial help for "certification courses" where you do earn a diploma but not a degree?

I've already had the class in the past but my certification has expired. Just curiouse if anyone knows anything about this and if you have any recommendations. Thanks!
First time babysitting help? I'm 13 and I want to start babysitting . I have a few questions... 1. If you babysat before, is it hard to balance that with school work? I'm in 8th grade, so I have some work to do everyday. 2. My parents don't think that I need to be first aid or CPR certified, but I think that that will give me a better chance at being hired and I know that parents feel safe when their babysitter knows first aid and CPR, but my parents won't pay for a class for me to take to get certified. Do you know any free certification classes online? And do you think it's absolutely necessary? 3. What should I include on a babysitting flyer? I'm planning on printing flyers and handing them out to houses with young children in the neighborhood. I'm 13 (might be certified for first aid & CPR if I find a free class), straight A's, experienced with young kids... help me out with that please. 4. How much should I charge? This is my first time ever, so I don't know a reasonable price range, if you have any suggestions... 5. What if a child is very problematic? If a child tries to test me, what should I do? 6. Should there be a charge for extra children? If they have 2 kids or 3 instead of 1, should there be a higher price? Or stay the same? Thanks so much for your time and effort !! You're a big help to me !

How long does the certification process last for the University of Phoenix? First course in the Bachelors program at the University of Phoenix (online). A few questions about programs and financial aid? People on here have helped me a lot in the past so I am hoping you can answer a few other questions for me. First, is there any legit online colleges or schools for training for Medical Billing and Coding or Medical Transcription. Second, would someone be able to get financial aid (if the school offers it) just for a certification and not for a degree like associates and so on? Third, which would be the best choice. Billing and Coding or Transcriptionist. Also I did sign up for financial aid last year and did get grants, however I didn't start college...so I did not use them. The college was over an hour away and it just couldn't work out. Will that be held against me? I was told if I did not sign up for college it would just go back into the system. I am looking for an Online only school as the nearest college to me is over and hour away. Any help would be appreciated.

CPR and First Aid certification? I got certified last year in a class at school, but this year they aren't offering it and my twin brother decided he wants to get certified now. Can you do it online without paying A LOT of money? If so, can you take the tests online too, or do you have to go somewhere for that? Any info would be great. Well, I looked it up and there was something about the Red Cross offering online courses, but I didn't think it seemed right either. Which... is WHY I asked. I'm not an idiot.
where can I find either free or decently price courses for First Aid CPR/Communicable diseases for ECD? Hello, I was recently laid off from the company I was working for and prior to that I have over five years of experience working with children/education. However, the state I relocated to (which is Ohio) apparently requires one to have CPR certification (which I have just need to renew) and communicable disease course. I was wondering if anyone knew any resources online that possibly offers one or both for free or decently priced [because I am strapped for cash and can't really afford any extra courses at the moment] because I need a job and most schools/daycares will reimburse one typically for taking these courses, but I am unable to find a job because need certifications. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks
Career Change - Need advice on choosing a college (what costs will my Pell Grant cover, etc.)? Ok.. I need some advice. I'm making a huge career change and I have no idea where to start. I am actually working towards becoming an event/wedding planner. I would like to have my own business one day, and this is my long-term career goal. I know that I need some training, so I wanted to take a certification course. However, they are not covered by financial aid programs. I decided to apply for FAFSA anyway, and see if I can take some college classes and use the remaining money to pay for my certification. I was approved for a Pell Grant of up to $5500. My EFC is O. So, I know that this means I will still need to take some regular college courses. I decided I may as well try to get a degree out of this while I'm at it! This will be my first attempt at college.. so an AA. I only have a high school diploma and have been working for the last 15 years in an Administrative setting. I have no idea where to begin. Here are my dilemmas: * I don't know what school is the most affordable (to get more money back for living expenses) * What schools offer online degrees and are the most reputable (since I work) * What type of major/degree will offer a secure job field later on? I may need to fall back on this and I don't want to just get any old degree and waste my time. My interests are in HR, Graphic Design, Marketing, Event Coordinating, etc... * Will I be able to make a decent salary (at least $50K) with an Associates degree? I just know myself, and I don't see myself sticking it out that long to do the BA degree. * Is it possible to get the Pell grant and other financial aid to where I will bring in enough money that I won't have to work while I'm going to school? I have a family - kids, bills, rent, etc... and that's what's prevented me from going to school full time up until this point. The need to WORK! So if I can get enough financial aid to help assist me, I can go to school full-time instead of online. I just want to get to the point where I have the skills to take me into a job where I don't have to live paycheck to paycheck anymore. Where I can put my children in sports and not have to worry about if I'll have enough money. I'm not asking to be rich, just stable, and I'm willing to work for it. But I need advice! I have this notification from FAFSA, but don't know where to go from here. I appreciate your POSITIVE advice... Thanks! BTW, I'm in Stockton, CA. Question - is it possible to take just a few courses of my pick at a Community College? For instance, at one community college, they have Event Management classes, and they also have Event Marketing courses. They aren't degree courses, just courses. Would the Pell Grant cover that or do I have to be in a degree program?
Where to get CPR certification? I need to get my nanny CPR and first aid certified. Do you know which is the best company to get CPR certified from? There are many options online and they all look similar. Some are just online tutorials, whereas I feel that for something like this, an actual demo or training would be better. Please suggest.
Should I get a AHA CPR for Healthcare Providers certification? Or is it a waste? Well, I am already certified in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers with American Red Cross, but I was thinking about getting an AHA certification. The reason being is due to a HOSA BLS/First Aid competition. I placed first in the online competition and if I do well on the skills portion I will advance to state and maybe even nationals (in which case I might get a much needed scholarship). I have never been trained with AHA, but the guidelines for the competition are AHA guidelines. :/ I've taken an online course before (with my schools premedical program) and on the online exam for the competition I kept going back and forth with a few problems since ARC and AHA differ in some points. I'm just nervous I'll make that mistake in the skills competition. So should I get the certification or no? It will cost like $63....which I have the money for, but I don't know if it would be a waste of my money. Also, I don't know how to do bag ventilation's (one person). I can do two person bag ventilation's from lifeguard training, but not one.
Online class for CPR/AED and First Aid certification? I want to get CPR/AED and First Aid Certified, but all the training courses for my state are pretty far away. I found an online course, http://cprcare.com/, has anyone used this site? Is it good enough for certification? Any other site recommendations?
is the red cross the only place to get CPR & first aid certified? I was looking online for a fast way to get certified for a new job. All the classes are weeks away. I found some websites offering the training but I'm not sure if they are legit and will be excepted in Wa. They say they are issuing these certifications in partnership with the national health and safety foundation. Does anyone have the 411 on this?

I need help in my college application? I applied at Houston Community College. I already submitted my application and received an e-mail saying they have accepted it. But I remember when I was filling out the application I put Performing and Visual Arts...thinking Photography fell into that category. But it turns out it doesn't. And I was wondering if I could change my Program/Cluster thingy..because I accidentally put Preforming and Visual Arts. Like, I really don't want to get a certificate in Photography anymore....I want to major in Radiology. I just turned 17 and was home-schooled and I know nothing about applying in colleges! I really need help. This is what the e-mail said (My questions are in all caps) : Dear Student: We have received and accepted your application for admission to Houston Community College that you submitted via the applytexas.org website for the (Summer and Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 semesters). As part of the process, you have selected a Program/Cluster, but you will also need to declare a specific major plan for your educational objective. Financial Aid students must complete this step before they can receive their award. (WHAT AWARD ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT?) Other students (WHAT DO THEY MEAN BY OTHER STUDENTS? :/) are encouraged to use this link, http://imc02.hccs.edu/ccp/career-clusters.htm, to complete the Educational and Decision-Making Tool before the end of their first semester. You can print the final page and take to a campus to meet personally with a HCC counselor/advisor at any of the HCC centers to discuss your educational objectives, or email the form to online.ss@hccs.edu. International students will need to go to the International Student Office at 3100 Main to complete their I-20 certification before proceeding. To complete the admissions process, you will need to do the following: Assessment, if applicable • Send official transcripts for previous college work (transfer & transient students) (I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO ANY COLLEGE) • Submit TSI test scores or Take TSI test • Submit ACT, SAT or TAKS scores Advising • Meet with HCC counselor/advisor on campus or email on-line advisors at online.ss@hccs.edu to determine and enter pre-requisite groups Orientation • Attend a college orientation session if you have less than 15 hours (Check with the college you will attend for times and locations) Communication • Record your HCC student ID number for your records. This number will be used for enrollment, accessing your grades, and all future enrollment services • You will receive a HCC student email account after you make payment for your classes. HCC will use this email address for all official communication Oh and I have this envelope the my school gave me to give to the college that I can't open. I know I have to send them but I wanted to know if I have to put my application Id number on the envelope..or if I can take the envelope to them personally? Oh and is it to late to apply for Financial Aid? Someone please help me...I have no clue on what to do. Dx Never mind this part. :p • Send official transcripts for previous college work (transfer & transient students) (I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO ANY COLLEGE)

Some questions about applying for my first job? I'm 17 years old and I want to get a summer job. I want to apply for a camp counselor position. I know it might be a little late to try and apply but I'm going to try this week. But I have a few questions. 1. If they have a website with online applications or to request for an application online, should I do it online or just call them? 2. If there isn't an online application, should I call or go to the place to try to apply? 3. Should I ask what certifications (CPR, first aid, etc) I would need before I apply or when I get an interview? I'm not going to bother to get the certifications this year if I do not get the job. 4. I know certain dates that I cannot work (2 weeks in August and a Saturday in July). How can I make sure that I can definitely have those days off? Do I ask at the interview or on the application? 5.What other questions should I ask for a job such as a camp councilor? Salary? Hours and days? 6. Say I get hired at 2 camps or I don't like the hours/pay, would I be able to decline the offer for them to hire me or would that be rude? Sorry for all of the questions. Thanks to everyone who helps! :)

How can I pay for an online, certification program? I found a relatively inexpensive medical coding certification program. It is online and not eligible for federal aid. I was not approved for the loan I applied for and can not get anyone to cosign because of their own financial troubles. I've considered getting a loan from a bank but it is not possible. It's been a little over a year since I graduated from college and I have yet to find a full/part-time job. I do not qualify for federal grants because I used them in my first degree. Most scholarships are directed towards high school students who want to attend four-year colleges. If I do this program, I have an 85% chance of getting full-time employment in a stable industry with a potential salary of $36,000 - $53, 000/year. Are there ANY grants, scholarships, or loan programs that could pay for this? It's only $2,370 - 2,475. The program offers job placement, is reputable and has a lot of connections within the industry.
Can you get CPR/First Aid certified online? I am looking to get CPR/First Aid certified. I was certified about 3 years ago, but it was done through college where we had a class and practiced compressions and stuff before taking a test. I have heard of online certification where you can print out your certificate? Are these real? Legit? The website I was looking at was: http://www.onlinecprcertification.net/ Is this lagit? Are there other websites that you used that are that are more legal? Someone help. I'm so confused.
Where to get free CPR and First Aid certification? Is there any online, or physical place to get CPR and/or First Aid certification for free, or really cheap?

University of Phoenix financial aid process...Certification of Funds? I started attending the University of Phoenix online in April 2011. I am entering into my last year of classes, but since starting I have had nothing but a hassle when it comes time for me to get my refund from my student loans. I understand the error I made attending this university. I had previously attended Penn State, but after the death of my father I failed some courses and had some issues. The only reason I went to UOP was because it was so easy to get into. I knew I could get in and pull up my GPA before transferring to a better university. However I know feel like i am being forced to stay at UOP. If I do not stay then I will owe for classes and my credits and grades will be held hostage. Back to the point of the financial aid. When I enrolled I told my advisor I would need my refund to purchase a new computer. She stated that would not be an issue. Once my student account was credited the refund balance they would not release it to me. I was told that it was policy to hold the funds for the 30 days to ensure the student would complete classes and not simply take the money. After a lot of hassle and somehow getting to speak to a head person I got my money. The next semester the refund came after 21 days. By UOP policy it should be disbursed to the student after 14 days of crediting to the account. Finally, I wrote my FA adviser (who never returns any of my calls or emails) and told her that I would be contacting legal representation if my money was not disbursed to me in 24 hours (after all I have it in print that it will only be 14 days). My money was disbursed that day. Now, Dec. 5th started my new semester. To date, I have never received an award letter nor has my financial aid been credited to my account. I contacted my academic adviser who contacted my FA adviser. She stated that she sent my file in for certification at the end of November and it would take 4-6 weeks to get my award letter. First, what is this certification? Is it with UOP or Dept of Education? Also, when I began attending I received my award letter in 2 weeks. How could I receive that one so fast? Also, why did she wait until the end of November to send my file for certification? My GPA is 3.75. I have carried all A's and one B. I have never been in jeopardy of being expelled for any issues. And, I have never dropped or transferred any course. I have done a lot research but can find no information on this certification process. This is not the same process of verification through the Dept of Education when they need copies of tax returns and more information. I have had to supply no additional information. My FA adviser stated that my financial aid is fine and I will receive the amounts I am suppose to. However, it needs certified. Are they jerking me around? Is this a real part of the process? Any information on this or any further steps I should take would be greatly appreciated. Like I explained to them, I depend on this money to assist in my survival while I try to better myself. I would like to add for clarification that I have done research and asked different advisers at UOP on the policy of holding the money for 30 days when a student first attends. Everything I have found and been told is that, that is not a UOP policy. I appreciate the information. I apologize because I must not have been clear about them holding my transcripts. Any one I have ever spoken with who have transferred out of UOP has been given a bill. Then, since they supposedly owe the university they can not get the transcripts. I do not understand it honestly. Some of these people would be covered with financial aid and have even dropped between semesters yet they end up being charged.

Which online first aid/ CPR course is most widely recognized/ accepted in the U.S.? I'm already very familiar with basic first aid and CPR and don't have the time to sit in a four hour class. Where on the Internet can I buy a tactical rifle/shotgun? I'm 18, live in Texas, am an eagle scout trained in first aid, CPR, life saving, gun control, safe gun handling, I hunt very often, and have my hunters safety certification. I am MORE than qualified to handle weapons. Texas laws state that 18 and up can purchase a shotgun, and depending on store owner rules, 18 or 21 for rifle. Now that that part is out of the way, let's get to the question. I'm looking at purchasing a tactical rifle or shotgun (Red Jackets stuff is right down my alley by the way) and I'd like to know where would be the absolute best place to purchase one of these. I've been looking at the following sites: http://www.redjacketfirearms.com/ http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/search.cmd?form_state=searchForm&N=0&fsch=true&Ntk=AllProducts&Ntt=Tactical+rifle+&x=0&y=0&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products http://search.gandermountain.com/?Ns=p_image_sort%7c1%7c%7cp_avg_review_score%7c1&Ne=1000&N=1759&cname=Centerfire-Rifles I'm a first time buyer. Never owned a gun before except the ones my father owns for me. I'm going off to college this fall and will be living in an apartment by myself. There's a ton of crazy people and I just want that extra security. That being said, should I purchase online, or in store? I need to know what credentials and info I need when purchasing the rifle/shotgun, and whatever else you may think will deem helpful. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!
