I want to have a fishtank, what supplies do I need? I'm looking to have a freshwater fishtank (I'm not fond of saltwater ones), and I was wondering: What kinds of things should I get for it and what should I have around in the case of mishaps (water's wrong, etc. I guess a "First aid" kit for the tank/fish). What kind of filter is best? What's a good kind of gravel to get? Are live plants better than fake ones? I know my way around my local pet and fish specific stores, but is there anything that's better to buy online? Note: I've already got a tank- I think it's 29 gallons, I should probably check the tag again.
did anyone read the USA Today articule on Columbian Rebels? I read it in the paper, but cannot find it online or else i would provide a link.Do you think its fair we have paid so much to them to help clear their country of cocaine and the rebels($6.2 billion)? Do you think that it is fair that they are the 7th largest recipient of US aid? Why do we help other countries with so much money when we have problems here that the money we send there can help us with? And why send that much money when Columbia still supplies the US with 90% of its cocaine? 1 more question: do you think any good will come of McCain's trip there?Or the trip to Mexico?
What is the best way to advertise for an online hurricane emergency site.? My mom and her friend just started an on-line hurricane supply website it has generators, first aid kits for any where from single person to 16 people first aid kits and children and animal first aid kits, crank tv/radio, flashlights, candles, batteries of all sizes, lanterns, helpful hints, and connects with a broward county top of the line tree service for before or after the storm. Its something they built with helping others on their minds. We haven't had any hits and i wanna do my part in helping her. She wants me to advertise as much as possible on-line without spending a dime. Can you help. Maybe if you have any suggestions on souping up the page you can check it out at www.onestophurricaneshop.net
How do I get my hair a perfect blonde? Hi, last night I bleached my hair for the fourth time (over a four & a1/2 month span) It's healthy as anything, no breakage, not dry, etc, it's fine. The only thing is, there are still some streaks of an orangey-gold colour! I'm guessing this is because I started off with an auburn hair colour, & before that I had a fire truck red hair colour, so it's been red an awful lot over my hair dying life, haha. Anyway, I've never used toner before and that's what everyone is telling me to do. I don't even know what toner is or looks like. Can someone recommend a good one (with a link or a picture please) that will get those orange streaks out of my hair? (Or am I going to have to bleach it AGAIN?) It needs to be something I can either get online/at wal-mart/rite-aid/or sallys beauty supply. Thanks guys.
How much should I charge? I have been offered a job to babysit for a co-worker of my mom's. It would be for about 7 1/2 hours a day, two days a week this summer. The 6 year old girl would come to my house. I am 14 (I'll be 15 by then, though. My birthday is in two weeks). I am certified from an online course, and a hands on course from the hospital. I am also certified in CPR and general first aid. We would supply the food (for lunch, and maybe breakfast. Probably snacks too.) The girl's mom is not a really close friend. She is a friend and co-worker. How much should I charge for one day? Also, I have been babysitting for about 3 years now. But I started being a "Mother's Helper" when I was 8. So, I have been doing that a total of 7 years.

Quick question about credit cards and statements? On my online statement, it says I have until the 9th to pay the balance at the time the statement was issued. I bought a bunch of supplies for school from the bookstore, only to find out that the dispersion date for my financial aid ISN'T the first week of school, and consequently past the 9th, making my finds available later than I thought they would be. Would any charge made after that statement was prepared go to the NEXT statement, or does it apply to that statement as well? If not, am I able to explain my situation to the credit card company without consequence? I can take care of the current balance on it... its just the upcoming charges that I won't be able to handle until the 12th. But, from what answers I've seen, it looks like i'll be fine. Thanks guys!
Can my dad do this? I got a check from the school for financial aid. I didn't know I got it. Actually, I did not. My dad checked the mail, opened my letter/check and deposited it into a bank account where both of our names are listed. NOW..I did not want him to see me get a check and how much amount I got because he would end up not buying food, water, and other supplies because he knows I got some financial aid and wants me to spend it on those kind of stuff (though i need it for my school and personal needs). I am only seventeen years old and he is the father (ex-father..divorced my mom) so isn't he suppose to provide? And in addition, I am not in his custody but to my mom's so why did he open the check and deposited it to account that has his name on it, and where he can track what I buy online. Also, why did the bank let him deposit a check where my name is the only one stated and he is not me. ADDITIONAL DETAILS BELOW please wait... My relationship with my dad is okay. It is only okay because I do not feel close to him cuz I feel like we kids are just some sort of investments for the fututre to him so that someone will give him finance when he retires (50 years old).. My mom and dad are separated but we the family still live together because me and my mom got $0 assets since we were immigrants (now US citizens). I'm afraid when I confront him he will kick us out in the cold winter with nothing and we will become homeless. I do not want to tell my mom about this because I'm sure that they will fight again and I will and up crying in my bedroom and not be able to finish my school work.

I have an efc of 2338. Will I get a pell grant? I just applied online for pell and sc lottery money. My efc is 2338. I am gonna attend part time in the summer. Half time anyway. It will cost $1000.00 just for tuition. That doesn't include books or fees or cost of living. On the fafsa web site, http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/aideligibility.jsp?tab=funding , it says cost of attendance is the sum of: 1. your actual tuition and fees 2. cost of room and board (or living expenses for students who do not contract with the school for room and board) 3. the cost of books, supplies, transportation, loan fees, and misc. expenses 4. an allowance for dependant care 5. costs related to a disability 6. reasonable costs for eligible study abroad programs I take from the list above that cost of living is included in the total amount that my efc will be subtracted from? How do they figure cost of living? Is the efc the amount you are expected to pay for the full year. If that is the case, will it be broken down since I am only attending the summer session for this school year? I am employed at the moment, but my place of employment is shutting down for good in April. Deadline for financial aid application is April 1. I am married. My husband dont work due to back injury. We have 2 small children. Can anyone give me some advice? Do I need to talk with a financial aid advisor again about my circumstances? Since deadline for application is April 1, does that mean just for submitting it and not for appeals? I know I have a bunch of questions here. I am gonna try to talk to a financial advisor probably Thursday of next week. But to ease my mind til then, if anyone knows any information that may help me, please do so. Thanks, Billie
Obama's fundraising scams? Newsweek's Michael Isikoff filed this report on some of the more blatant, already-identified abuses by the Obama campaign. In the old days before he drank the Kool-Aid, I seem to recall Isikoff was the first to publish news of a transgression by a President and an intern...and we know how that turned out with the country embroiled in Impeachment hearings for months. So now we've accounted for around sixty grand of Obama's treasure chest...all we need is to understand where the other two hundred plus million of dodgy money came from, and then we could be reasonably satisfied that Obama played it by the rules! The Obama campaign has shattered all fund-raising records, raking in $458 million so far, with about half the bounty coming from donors who contribute $200 or less. Aides say that's an illustration of a truly democratic campaign. To critics, though, it can be an invitation for fraud and illegal foreign cash because donors giving individual sums of $200 or less don't have to be publicly reported. Consider the cases of Obama donors "Doodad Pro" of Nunda, N.Y., who gave $17,130, and "Good Will" of Austin, Texas, who gave more than $11,000—both in excess of the $2,300-per-person federal limit. In two recent letters to the Obama campaign, Federal Election Commission auditors flagged those (and other) donors and informed the campaign that the sums had to be returned. Neither name had ever been publicly reported because both individuals made online donations in $10 and $25 increments. "Good Will" listed his employer as "Loving" and his occupation as "You," while supplying as his address 1015 Norwood Park Boulevard, which is shared by the Austin nonprofit Goodwill Industries. Suzanha Burmeister, marketing director for Goodwill, said the group had "no clue" who the donor was. She added, however, that the group had received five puzzling thank-you letters from the Obama campaign this year, prompting it to send the campaign an e-mail in September pointing out the apparent fraudulent use of its name. "Doodad Pro" listed no occupation or employer; the contributor's listed address is shared by Lloyd and Lynn's Liquor Store in Nunda. "I have never heard of such an individual," says Diane Beardsley, who works at the store and is the mother of one of the owners. "Nobody at this store has that much money to contribute." (She added that a Doodad's Boutique, located next door, had closed a year ago, before the donations were made.) Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt said the campaign has no idea who the individuals are and has returned all the donations, using the credit-card numbers they gave to the campaign. (In a similar case earlier this year, the campaign returned $33,000 to two Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip who had bought T shirts in bulk from the campaign's online store. They had listed their address as "Ga.," which the campaign took to mean Georgia rather than Gaza.) "While no organization is completely protected from Internet fraud, we will continue to review our fund-raising procedures," LaBolt said. Some critics say the campaign hasn't done enough. This summer, watchdog groups asked both campaigns to share more information about its small donors. The McCain campaign agreed; the Obama campaign did not. "They could've done themselves a service" by heeding the suggestions, said Massie Ritsch of the Center for Responsive Politics. Anyone think this is another smear?
why are we helping columbia? I read it in the paper, but cannot find it online or else i would provide a link.Do you think its fair we have paid so much to them to help clear their country of cocaine and the rebels($6.2 billion)? Do you think that it is fair that they are the 7th largest recipient of US aid? Why do we help other countries with so much money when we have problems here that the money we send there can help us with? And why send that much money when Columbia still supplies the US with 90% of its cocaine? one more question: do you think any good will come of McCain's trip there? and his trip to Mexico? gee STAN you dont even give me a chance to relpy before you give me my next answer! i mess up one vowel and i am an ignorant hick now? and what part of the question are you answering? oh i see, your not smart enough to answer! In the articule i read it stated that colombia is now sending most of the cocaine to europe for the stronger euro.

Why do companies expect me to begin new hobbies, volunteer, and take classes while I'm unemployed? I'm unemployed. I've been laid off since June 25, 2008. Anyway, excluding the time that I sleep, I have spent 80% or more of my time seeking employment. I've applied in person, I've applied through the mail, I've applied online, and I've made many, many phone calls. Why do interviewers look down on me for not starting a new hobby, volunteering (I don't even know where I could volunteer in my area), and for not taking classes? I'm going in debt just looking for employment. I don't have money to spend on classes. I don't have money to purchase supplies to start any hobbies that I would like. I don't have time or money to volunteer. [No, not everyone is eligible for financial aid... Last year, I had income for six months and unemployment insurance for six months. That income made me ineligible for any federal loans -- except for maybe a few hundred dollars. I've spoken with them over the phone, etc, I am not eligible. - Please don't say anyone can get help, that isn't true...] Anyway, I need a job now and the THREE whole interviews I had ended because I wasn't spending my time "wisely". As I've said, I've spent nearly every bit of it seeking employment. I've traveled to other cities, etc... but I can't do that anymore. Not To Be Fooled: (How did you find out that you were not hired due to "not spending time wisely" ??), Two of the interviewers actually said that they didn't believe I was spending my time wisely and that they would think more positive of a person who took this "free time" to attend classes, etc. I've already explained why I haven't done that. And the third did ask about each of these things and hesitated for a couple of minutes after my answer of "no". My interview was over in less than five minutes after that question. I don't understand why "firestar.1981" got a thumbs down. The answer given is 100% true. I've been laid off from my last three jobs over the years, two of the three were automotive suppliers. Even when my employers closed their doors, I was still treated like a bum for being unemployed. Not 2 B Fooled: Oh, thanks for the resume advice. However, I already do revamp my resume quite often. I've went through dozens and dozens of samples. I've even went to a couple of professional services, but the resulting resume from both of those places was 75% lies. I can't use their crap.

Can we just vote the issues? Healthcare Obama’s plan says he will “Work with employers to supply healthcare” as long as employers pay a “meaningful” portion of the premiums. “Meaningful portion” What does that mean? It means it’s not going to happen. If he could legislate that employers provide insurance under those conditions, the number of businesses closing under the financial pressure would cripple our economy. The inevitable consequences of socialized medicine. We will see the rise of privately run clinics owned by Physicians that treat the wealthy and the privately insured. These places will charge more, pay Doctors more, and have the latest advances in equipment. These clinics will attract the smartest and most talented doctors and surgeons from our “free” hospitals. If you have Government insurance, you will never see them. Yes, there are problems with our medical system, but in an emergency you will be seen and treated properly with or without a nickel in your pocket. You will be expected to pay, but why shouldn’t you? More to the point, why should I pay for you? Socialized medicine will give you’re a free liver transplant or cancer treatment, if you live long enough while waiting your turn. Making the Medical system paperless? That would require the authoring of a web based software package in many different versions that would speak to the many different disciplines in the medical field so as not to share or needlessly replicate sensitive medical information. Most Americans are afraid to shop online and now we are going to ask them to supply all their personal information to a Government run database with literally 10’s of thousands of user names and passwords distributed throughout the medical community? The following is a paragraph from a Washington Post article titled “VA Takes the Lead in Paperless Care”. “Since 1999, the VA's 155 hospitals, 881 clinics, 135 nursing homes and 45 rehabilitation centers have been linked by a universal medical records network. It allows any authorized person to look at 5.3 million patients' records -- everything from a nurse's note written during a hospital stay, to the result of a blood test drawn at a clinic visit, to the moving-picture film of a coronary angiogram done in a cardiology lab.” Any “Authorized” person, or hacker! Is this the place you want the records for your last PAP smear? AIDS test? STD treatment? Phyc exam? Think your information is safe from disgruntled employees? From hackers? Forever? You will have no choice but participate. “Stop giving tax breaks to companies that ship our jobs overseas”. Like it or not we are competing in a global economy. To stay competitive companies must lower their costs. Unfortunately that means finding less expensive work forces, less restrictive controls, and lower tax rates. Giving tax breaks does not cause companies to ship jobs overseas; it is encouragement to keep them here! If you vote for one over the other because you “like” one candidate or “hate” the other instead of voting the issues, you do us all an extreme disservice. You should not be allowed to vote. Dislike Bush? Me too. I also hate hitting my foot with a hammer but that does not mean hitting my head instead is the answer! All that being said, does McCain have all, or any of the answers? Maybe. Maybe not. The point is Obama’s plans will hurt this country. Before Iraq, when every Congress member and US Senator were convinced (through lies, miscommunication, or arrant information) O’bama says he was against the war, I would like to know one thing. What information did this Junior State Senator from Illinois know that the entire US Senate & House did not know and how did he know it? What did this man that wants to be our President base his decision on?

I was cleaning out my wife's grandpa's cellar and found 12 bottles of his home-bottled grape wine under the steps. My wife told me to empty the contents of each and every bottle down the sink, or else. I agreed to do the unpleasant task. I withdrew the cork form the first bottle and poured the contents down the sink, with the exception of one glass, which I drank. I extracted the cork from the second bottle, did likewise, and drank one glass, just to check the taste to see if the old fellow knew his wine making. He did. I then opened the third bottle, and poured it, too, down the sink, but not until drinking one full glass to check the purity. It was very good. I did this, also with the fourth bottle. One glass for myself, and the rest down the sink. I pulled the bottle from the cork of the next, and drank one sink out of it and threw the rest down the glass. I pulled the sink out of the next glass and poured the cork from the bottle, then corked the sink with the glass, bottled the drink and drank the pour. When I had everything emptied, I steadied the house with one hand, counted the bottles, corks, glasses and sinks with the other, which were 29, and as the house came by I counted them again, and finally had all the houses in one bottle, which I drank. I felt so foolish that I couldn't go upstairs and congratulate my wife to tell her what a great winemaker her grandpa was. I will do that after climbing the basement steps the next time they come by. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Junior had just received his brand new drivers license. She demanded that the corpse be changed into the blue suit she'd brought especially for that purpose. The undertaker said, "But madam! It's only a minute or two until the funeral is scheduled to begin! We can't possibly take him out and get him changed in that amount of time. The lady said, "Who's paying for this?" Seeing the logic to this argument, a very reluctant mortician wheeled the coffin out, but then wheeled it right back in a moment later. Miraculously, the corpse was in a blue suit. After the ceremony, a well-satisfied widow complimented the undertaker on the smooth and speedy service. She especially wanted to know how he'd been able to get her husband into a blue suit so fast. The funeral director said, "Oh, it was easy. It happens that there was another body in the back room and he was already dressed in a blue suit. All we had to do was switch heads! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A cowboy rode into town and stopped at a saloon for a drink. "Alright, I'm gonna have another beer, and if my horse ain't back outside by the time I finish, I'm gonna do what I dun in Texas! And I don't like to have to do what I dun in Texas!" Some of the locals shifted restlessly. The man, true to his word, had another beer, walked outside, and his horse has been returned to the post. He saddled up and started to ride out of town. They promise things they cannot possible deliver!? Can we apply common sense to Obama’s campaign promises.?

Please read what I wrote about the Environment. Write a comment if you wish!! Please spread the word!!!!? The Environment: How can you help it? The environment is a mess. Everyone can understand that cant they? Well I’m not so sure. Nobody seems to care about anything that’s happening anymore. People will keep on polluting, throwing trash on the ground, cutting down the rainforest, and aiding in the continuation of global warming. When will it stop? What can you do to help stop it? It doesn’t take a genius. Go online and look up ways to help your environment. There is list after list and website after website that gives you ideas. Try recycling, or using cloth bags instead of plastic ones. Cut down on our electricity intake or go organic. You can do so much more for your planet than what you are doing. If you need volunteer hours, then pick up trash on the beach, or find an environmental club in the area. Whatever you do, just get up and do it already. Write letters to your city mayor asking him or her to do something environmental, like making recycling mandatory, or eliminating plastic bags from grocery stores. If you have a voice, use it. Now let’s talk about the rainforest. The rainforest is slowly but surely disappearing. But not everyone knows this, and not everyone cares. Until people realize what is happening, no one will try to stop it. And so as the years go by the rainforest will disappear. The rainforest provides us with much of our oxygen supply, most of our medicines and foods, and the majority of our paper products. Not only does it regulate temperatures and weather patterns, it also contains over 2,000 tropical plants containing anti-cancer properties. Without it we would be nothing. A typical four square mile patch of rainforest contains as many as 1,500 flowering plants, 750 species of trees, 400 species of birds and 150 species of butterflies. Each day over 100 species, known or unknown, become extinct as the rainforest is cut down. How much is cut down or ask? Every second a slice of rainforest the size of a football field is cut down. That’s 86,400 football fields of rainforest per day, or over 31 million football fields of rainforest each year. Not much rainforest left after that is there? So what happens to the animals, the medicinal plants and the native people who live in the rainforest? They die off. Once everything is gone, our lives soon become in jeopardy. Our oxygen levels go down; the weather gets worse and worse, creating monstrous hurricanes and typhoons around the world. And on top of it all, our economy suffers. Everything we have and sell that once came from the rainforest will slowly become lower in quantity. Certain foods will no longer be in grocery stores, and paper products will be scarce in schools and offices. No money will come in for items that do not exist. So what can be done? It’s simple. Spread the word to your friends and family and ask them to support the rainforest. Donate money to programs that help the rainforest such as the Arbor Day Foundation or the Rainforest Action Network. Hold presentations or pass out brochures to your class. Do whatever it takes to save the rainforest. Our lives depend on it. What about global warming? IT IS OUR FAULT. Deny it all you want but its true. If we didn’t pollute so much that we destroyed the UV rays, which makes the earth hotter, which melts the ice caps, then wouldn’t we all be better off? But who’s going to take action? Who’s going to stand up for what’s right, and get of their lazy behinds and do something? Polar bears are dying. Water levels are rising. Florida will be underwater if this continues. And if you love Disney world as much as I do then I’m sure you wouldn’t love to go there and have to wear scuba gear to get to it. I’m sure we all would rather watch TV and hang with friends, but right now isn’t the time. Right now we need to step up and stop spending all of our money on worthless junk at the store and start donating to causes that need it. You boys out there don’t need another video game, and the girls don’t need new makeup and clothes. What you need is to take that allowance that you would have spent on something for yourself and spend it on something that could save the world. And on another negative note, oil prices. You can’t go one day without complaining about them. They just keep getting higher and higher, and soon you’ll be paying ten dollars a gallon. I hope everybody out there can ride bikes because that’s what you’ll be driving to work and school with. These high oil prices will not go down. The more higher they get the angrier people will become and who knows, we might even have a world war 3. Make a protest. If everyone in this world went one day without buying gas, the whole oil economy will suffer greatly. This may seem cruel but it in fact would make a huge difference. The fall of the oil economy will make people realize that oil is just too high for people to buy anymore and so they have stopped buying it altogether. If they become desperate enough they’ll lower the price of gas in order to keep the money flowing. But since nobody has the guts to do anything about it, then I suggest you stop complaining. If you hear someone complaining about oil prices, or saying something about global warming, and how everybody is hurting the environment, I want you to stand up and with your loudest voice say “then let’s do something about it! Let’s stop talking about it and do something because actions speak louder than words!” We are the only thing that can stop this destruction of the planet. Not God, not a miracle, not even magic or wishing or praying. Our actions, our protests, our courage and bravery to stand up to the stupid people with cold and black hearts who don’t care are the only thing that can make a difference. Use what you got and use it well, or live with the shame.
Can we just vote the issues? Healthcare Obama’s plan says he will “Work with employers to supply healthcare” as long as employers pay a “meaningful” portion of the premiums. “Meaningful portion” What does that mean? It means it’s not going to happen. Sorry Bash ... I have read it. Studied it in fact. This is only the very tip of the plan that is inconsistent with success.

Where can I buy Sour Patch Watermelons? I haven't had one in four years and I miss them terribly. I hate the Sour Patch Kids, so please don't suggest that. Also, I don't want to pay like, $30 just to buy some candy online. So if you could tell me what stores supply it, it'd be greatly appreciated. For the stores, I meant something like Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Safeway, or anything like that.
Is polyvore.com a copyrighting website? I have an account on polyvore.com and the other day I was on it and I noticed a set that said, "Polyvore is in Danger! read below" so of course I read below and in the notes it stated that thousands of people are signing an online petition to shut down polyvore.com is because they are accusing the website of copyrighting images to create sets this is exactly what the petition states below-- "Shut down Polyvore.com for copyright infringement 1325 Signatures [Sign Petition] Published by Aja-ann Trier on Jan 07, 2009 Category: Arts & Entertainment Region: GLOBAL Target: Polyvore.com Background (Preamble): Polyvore.com allows users to swipe copywritten material from anywhere on the web and import it onto the site and then create collages or "sets" from imported images. Polyvore supplies the graphics application which can be used to create derivative works and remove watermarks and copyright information from imported images. More often than not these images are not credited back to the original creator and in nearly every instance images are swiped without the express permission of their creators. Here, http://www.flickr.com/photos/8504507@N02/3172837696/page2/ Pasha Sadri, owner of the Polyvore website, admits in a response to an artist whose original artwork was stolen and manipulated using Polyvore's graphics application to make illegal derivatives, "polyvore is meant to be a fashion website. people clip product images (from a site like gap.com) and use the images to create fashion layouts. that is why we have the clipping tool. we potentially earn money if someone goes from polyvore to gap to buy that product (eg: gap pays us a commision). we do not directly sell anything, like your images." This means this service is a partnership with large retailers. This also means there is absolutely no reason why Polyvore should include an ability to clip any and every image from across the net if it is merely a "fashion website". Polyvore has not actively educated its users on copyright and has not taken any initiative to aid in the protection of intellectual property, rather it has created an atmosphere that not only condones but encourages intellectual property theft. What's worse, Sarah from Polyvore stated last year on the Polyvore blog that they not only encouraged the printing of "sets" they were also considering setting up printing as a feature on the Polyvore website. ( http://blog.polyvore.com/2008/01/copyright-issues.html ) They are effectively encouraging the reproduction of copywritten work without the creator's ok, a guaranteed right to the copyholder via United States Copyright Laws. A right being unlawfully stripped away by Polyvore's encouragement of printing collages. Coupled with the fact that the owner of the website has made his intentions clear, that the website is to be a "fashion website" and nothing more, this gross misuse of intellectual property that is so clearly outside the scope of the website's intent must cease immediately. Cease and desist letters have been sent by droves of artists whose images were stolen from blogs, personal websites, portfolios, and venues through which work is sold and although images are taken down initially, many of the same images reappear on the site later on. A cease and desist does *not* expire and should not need to be sent more than once. Images are taken from direct sources in an overwhelming majority of instances where the owner of the original work is easily accessible to reach regarding use of their work on the website. Users do not do this and simply import these images as they are found. Polyvore's system makes this a one click action aiding in the swift theft of intellectual property which is a direct violation of United States Copyright Laws. Because this problem has persisted for the last year without a solution that satisfies both sides set in place as well as Pasha Sadri's apathy and subsequent income while artists original work become "casualties" of Polyvore's service and ultimate goal, we artists feel we have no other choice than to publicly call for the Polyvore website to be shut down. If you would like more information regarding this ongoing issue, please visit the following links to see individual artists take on the matter - http://etsynews.com/607/is-polyvore-stealing-your-images/ http://www.redbubble.com/people/crokuslabel/writing/266182-petition-to-stop-copy right-theft-at-polyvore-com http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=5438055&page=1 http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=5438619&page=1 And most recently.... http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=5982886&page=1 We artists need to protect out intellectual property and will not stand idly by while our work is so clearly infringed upon. Thank you for your support." -Aja-ann Trier
What are some good sites to sell hearing aid supplies? The company I work for has put me in charge of listing their products on every online site I can come up with. So far we have only been using eBay and a little bit of craigslist. So far i've come up with: Amazon monstercommerce buy.com overstock.com Any other ideas would be great for my career, thanks guys!
Requirements for first aid kits in public school classrooms? I've been working in a public school classroom in California and have noticed that their first aid kit is not stocked very well (basically has a few band aids, alcohol wipes and a few gloves). I've been looking online to see if I could find what the requirements are as far as first aid kits in classrooms. Or, are they fine as long as the supplies are in the office?
Are there any physical stores to buy non-rebreather oxygen masks? I am to be working EMS and first aid at a local organization's haunted house. I am an EMT-B. I have most of my supplies lined up, except for some Non-rebreathers, nasal cannulas, and an ambubag. I can't order them online. I'm in Central NJ, if anyone knows of a store. Thanks
Community college or University of Phoenix? Should I attend classes online through my community college or Univerity of Phoenix? I heard UofP has a bad rep and is not accredited, I dont want to put the time and effort into a worthless degree.. the problem is i signed up already, classes havent started and i havent been approved for loans yet.can i still unenroll? Also I have EFC of 0 so i have full financial aid, can i also get a stafford loan while im at the community college? I need to be able to buy a new computer and school supplies, Thanks for any input!
one of my books is out of stock?!?!? i ordered a book from the campus bookstore for my chem class because they didn't have any more in stock. [i went a WEEK before class started, so i didn't procrastinate on this] well, i ordered it online through the bookstore but it says nothing about when it ships. my classes start tomorrow, i plan on going to ask the bookstore about the shipment process but i'm afraid i'm going to fall behind. the book comes in a package with online coursework so it's kind of crucial. the trouble is, i can't cancel the order because my bookstore won't let me until the book has arrived at the store so my financial aid used to buy the book is going to be already used up. i found a copy of the book at an off campus supply/bookstore so i was wondering if i should just aim to get the copy at the end of this week, order the online program from the website and disregard my order once it comes, or just wait for the book? again, i can't cancel/return the ordered book until it ships to my campus bookstore.

Anyone an expert on student loans/financial aid and legality? I attend a community college. I have been to two Universities before the community college, and there, I never ran into the sort of trouble I am having with my financial aid, as I am at the community college. I understand they are not the same. That is the only thing the lady in my current schools Financial Aid office keeps telling me. She keeps beating around the bush and does not give a straight answer on my question. Outside of applying for financial aid with the school, in which I was awarded a Pell Grant that supplied the full cost of tuition, I also applied for a Student Loan. I did this because I needed it. I am a student. Everyone knows there are more costs to being a student then just tuition. That is why you apply for student loans when you need them, and trust me...I need them! Not only have I still not recieved any refunds from my grant nor my loan, but why am I asked to come into the school, sign my name on the back of a check, and leave it? That should never be asked of anyone, for anything, it is not how business is done. This is how I know that somewhere, something screwy is going on, and I am getting no where with the school. What I signed was my loan checks, and I have to sign and leave them because they are made out to me and to the school. My question is, why is the schools name on my check? I applied for an outside loan. I understand that the loan officials have to verify that I attend the school I am attending, but that should be the end of it. I was never asked if I wanted it written out to the school. The lady in the office at my school could only tell me, that they do this because they are a community college. They don't make as much money for funding as a University. Therefore, they have to make sure that they get thier cut, they can't absorb the costs when someone decides to just stop going to school. I understand that. That makes sense. I doubt though if a University could somehow not have to absorb any students costs and make sure they get their money, they would too. It doesn't make any sense. It seems to me they are somehow getting around the system and adding thier name onto it without anyone knowing. It also makes no sense to me, that I was awarded financial aid and the loan because I need it! I need it for school! I need it to live, so that I can go to school, which is part of it. I take an online lab class that I need to buy materials for, yet I can't. We are 8 weeks into the semester, and I still have not seen a penny of any of my refund money. I guess what I'm asking is, is there something illegal going on here?
Will the release my student loan check? I am currently attending a community college here in Alabama. The attendance policy states that you can not miss no more than 4 days a semester. I have been having car problems and it has caused for me to miss more than 4 days but only in one class. All my work has to be done online but I just have to report to class and do it there. I currently have a passing grade. The finical aid dept at my school informed me that they are holding my loan check until I get the attendance problem taken care of with my instructor. I spoke with my instructor and explained the problem to him and he advised me that the only thing he could do is send them an e-mail letting them know that he is aware of the situation and that I am passing is class with a B. My question is do you think that my school will release my check? I really need this student loan check for numerous of things. They are so late giving them out that me and a lot of other students still need to purchase certain supplies like books for certain classes. Yeah you are correct that it is my responsibility to be there. There is no bus route around here and the only ride I could get was later in the evening after that class.
Can I open a checking account at the age of sixteen? I'm sixteen years old, and a freshman in college. I need a checking account because I have a financial aid check, and I'd like to buy books and supplies with it online (which usually requires a debit card), or in a store. My mom would be a "joint owner" (I guess you'd call it that). Are there any checking accounts for sixteen year olds that allow the applicant to use a debit card (I'm pretty sure Key Bank doesn't let you use a debit card, which is what I need)?
Financial Aid appeal? Help? I have to submit my request in writing. What type of paper should I use? Any suggestions would help. Thanks! Dear Jennifer Dorer: My name is Kimberly Taylor and I am writing this letter in hopes that the decision to limit my Financial Aid could be reconsidered. Although I have not received notification from JCC stating I am being placed on Academic Probation for the Winter 2010 semester, I fear I will be due to my academic failure during the Fall 2009 semester. Although my grades were poor this past semester, my GPA does not reflect my capability and determination to succeed and reach my academic goals. After graduating high school three years ago, beginning college courses proved much more difficult for me than I originally thought. Once I fell behind in my classes, I tried to salvage what I could of my grades and earned a 3.5 in my writing class, although my other three courses suffered. I am capable of making academic progress and earning acceptable grades. When I began schooling this past Fall, I did not have a sufficient plan for managing my time and balancing my classes with my other life responsibilities. I am aware now of the mistakes I have made and am asking for one more chance to show Jackson Community College that I can succeed academically. Please know that school is of great importance to me and I have come up with a new plan for the following semester to manage my time and school work; I believe it will be very effective for me and I will bring all of my grades and cumulative grade point average up to, or above, JCC's acceptable academic standard policy. My new academic plan is as follows: I will read each class syllabus carefully to familiarize myself with each instructor's expectations and grading scale and refer to it when in doubt I will contact my instructor if there is something I do not understand or if I have any doubts or questions about any course materials If I am having trouble with coursework is any of my classes, I will contact a tutor immediately I have arranged daycare for my daughter Monday-Friday for four hours per day, so that I have more time to work on my courses I have quit my part-time job so that I can focus solely on my academic responsibilities and give myself more time to study I am appreciative of the fact that while I am on academic probation I will still be allowed to receive grants to help with my tuition and fees. I am asking your committee to reconsider the denial of my student loan disbursement for the Winter 2010 semester. I am an independent student and am in dire need of a new laptop which will be used for my online courses and school supplies, as well as funds to pay for some of my living expenses. My goal is to complete an Associates Degree in Applied Science. Without student loans, I will be financially unable to complete my goal. Please know that I am extremely focused on my future and my dedication to my education is paramount. I am aware that I am allowed to submit an appeal twice in regards to Financial Aid determination in my educational experience at Jackson Community College. This is the only appeal I will ever make, due to the fact that I am extremely determined to rise above the minimum requirements for Financial Aid acceptance and good standing at JCC. Please allow me a second chance to prove that I can be a model student and achieve academic excellence. Sincerely, Kimberly A. Taylor

My new academic plan is as follows: I will read each class syllabus carefully to familiarize myself with each instructor's expectations and grading scale and refer to it when in doubt I will contact my instructor if there is something I do not understand or if I have any doubts or questions about any course materials If I am having trouble with coursework is any of my classes, I will contact a tutor immediately I have arranged daycare for my daughter Monday-Friday for four hours per day, so that I have more time to work on my courses I have quit my part-time job so that I can focus solely on my academic responsibilities and give myself more time to study I am appreciative of the fact that while I am on academic probation I will still be allowed to recieve grants to help with my tuition and fees. This is the only appeal I will ever make, due to the fact that I am extremely determined to rise above the minimum requirements for Financial Aid acceptance and goodstanding at JCC. Please allow me a second chance to prove that I can be a model student and achieve academic excellence.
Financial Aid letter of appeal? Can someone read? Why isn't the aid getting to the Haitian people? Where has all of the money gone that was donated from around the world to the Haitian people? The BBC reported on my local Public Broadcasting channel one day, about how people where dying from a lack of basic med supplies/aid, when they where only a 100 feet away from the carts and carts of aid? The doctor they interviewed was one of the frustrated docs, and aid workers. Also they are still pulling people from the rubble you can listen for free now here by clicking "listen live"-- http://wsbradio.com/localnews/2010/01/reporters-notebook-return-to-h.html This report (which I hope they provide online in full after they fully air it), reports like the BBC--it goes behind the scenes, and talks to the actual doctors, aid workers, and other Haitian citizens to give you a vivid picture of what's going on. Also, other than the BBC, please tell me some GREAT places to read news online for free, or view reports that just report stories that are important. I was told of an EXCELLENT report that Anderson Cooper did on the underground tunnel (it is posh, it has an elevator too) b/w Mexico and USA, but I don't have cable, so I can only view/read online. Something like the French did, when they went in with their cameras to document the Holocaust (old black and white vid I saw in school years ago...if anyone can locate that too, please tell). Thanks, pray God bless all hurting people too!

Is it against the rules of this site to not answer a question, but just promote your site instead? I asked the following question; “Did Christ die for nothing; was His death of no value to anybody? According to the book “What does the Bible Really Teach” page 214, no matter what we do on earth we will still have the opportunity for eternal life on earth. We don’t need to belong to a church; we can murder, we can kill a JW a day every day, commit adultery, rape, steal, hate God and blaspheme against Him, we can even be a catholic and still have eternal life. We will only have to answer to the earthly authorities for our crimes, not God. Our life on earth means nothing {quoted from the book “What Does the Bible Really Teach” page 214} [as The Bible says: “He who has died has been acquitted from his sin.” (Romans 6:7) Those resurrected thus come to life with a clean slate, so to speak.] We will have to be good for the next 1000 years but God will have a lot of JW’s to teach us so we will know the way. [“Judgment Day will give billions of people their first opportunity to learn about God’s will and to conform to it. This means that a large-scale educational work will take place. By the end of Judgment Day, surviving humans will have “come to life” fully as perfect humans. (Revelation 20:5) ”]” More:- http://ph.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhGCvYRndFPdSGocCJJeCKcazKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20100219014658AA54XsV And I get the following rubbish as an answer. “#ASKERS QUESTION Did Christ die for nothing; was His death of no value to anybody? (That was the title to the question, not the question) # ANSWER: No, Jesus did not die for nothing, his death was of great vaule. The "bible teach book" full title "WHAT DOES THE BIBLE REALLY TEACH" (book referred to in asker's question) a online bible study aid goes topic by topic through common bible quesitons - available online. http://www.watchtower.org/e/bh/article_0… Source(s): I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses "What does the bible REALLY teach": page 214 - "Judgement day, what is it?" http://www.watchtower.org/e/bh/appendix_…” True, she addressed the title of the question, but never attempted to address the question itself. The question included the full name of the book (not an abbreviation as suggested by her reply) and she needs to restate name of the book, supply an address to find it and promotes the book. What sort of a non answer is that? Does not comply with the answer format required by this site? Then she gives the name of the book again, this time with the page reference I gave, and the site address again. What sort of a reply is that? Do you think it is an answer? Or does not comply with the answer format required by this site. She make no attempt to answer the question which proves that the publication we both referred to is either incorrect or most of the New Testament is wrong. Do you believe that to just post the site address of a publication that you want to promote without any attempt to answer the real question (not the questions title) is an abuse of the rules of this site and should not be permitted? Do you think that these are the actions of a true Christian? Do you think that by ignoring the question and just promoting your site is ethical and Christ like? Do you think I should report such a dishonest person for her actions that use a question as a platform for self promotion without any real attempt to address the question?

Where can I get these First Aid Supplies? I'm taking a First Aid, AED, and Professional CPR class this semester and we need a pocket mask. Does anyone know what type of stores would supply these? Something that's not online would be best because I need it immediately. Also, I need to bring a towel? Has anyone taken a course like this? Is it just a regular towel I need to bring, or is it some type of first aid towel? Thankssss!!!! I would like to know a place where I can get it in a store.... not online please. :)
what would you do - book voucher? i qualified for financial aid and was sent a book voucher to use at the college bookstore. i can spend it all there, or if I don't spend the full amount, I'll get a check at the end of the semester for whatever I didn't spend. first question, does that sound right? i find it hard to believe they'll just send me money. could i have misunderstood? second, assuming it's true, would you spend it all on overpriced textbooks at the college bookstore or would you still try to find a better deal? if a $100 book costs $50 online, should i just buy it online and try to sell it at the end of the semester? should i just rent the books from a site like chegg? third, if you bought all your books and still had money leftover, would you spend it on other things like notebooks, pens, other school supplies? (they even sell sweatshirts and things like flash drives, calculators, all sorts of convenience-store type stuff which you are allowed to use the book voucher)? on the one hand, it's like free money, i can buy these things and it won't cost me a cent. on the other hand, if i don't spend it, i will get a check at the end of the semester, and that money i can spend anywhere on anything or more likely just put in the bank. this book voucher thing has created quite a few dilemmas!

A few questions on education tax credits? I thought about filing for an education tax credit, because my school only accepts financial aid for core classes, so I have to pay out of pocket for the first three years. I've done some research online. I read that I can file for an "above-the-line" credit. I have no idea what that is or how it works so any information on that would be very helpful. Also I read about Lifetime Education credit and American Opportunity credit (formerly the Hope credit). From what I read the Lifetime Education credit gives you up to $2,000 a year and the American Opportunity gives you up to $2,500. My questions are...when filing in the "qualified expenses"...can I put in a rough estimate of what my tuition and books will probably be? Which credit should I file for to get the most money back? If I file this year, can I file again next year? If it helps at all...this is my first semester of college, I'm only taking two courses (starting next fall I will be taking 12+ credits each semester) which are already paid for. I know next semester will be around $1,200 not including books and supplies. I'm a stay at home mom, only live off my husband's income (Im not sure what it is, he just got out of the military in November so I'm not too sure about what his current salary is at his new job). I'm 21, I'll be 22 in August (I *think* I read that you have to be at least 24 to get the American Opportunity credit).
I want to know what to do if my school is always late with my stipend check? When I first started at this school (online), they had some program where you waited for 5 weeks to see if you liked the school and if they liked you and then they would send your stipend in a couple of weeks. They said I agreed to this, although it was not thoroughly explained to me. I had a dire emergency, my granddaughter and daughter were murdered and I desperately needed this money for burial costs, etc. I am on disability and hardly can make it month to month. Under these extenuating circumstances, they still said "oh well!" They could care less. This quarter, I was told the check would go out on the 11th, but now I was told that since the loans didn't post to my account until the 9th instead of the 2nd, that the check wouldn't go out until the 24th!! Why so long? I told them that this was MY MONEY, that I took extra loans out to pay for the high speed internet, the computer payments, and all my supplies, and that is why it is called FINANCIAL AID! They don't care, and I'm tired of bitching to deaf ears. What can I do? I am an excellent student with a 4.0 average, I graduated from another school before this one with a 4.0, so I'm not a trouble-maker, but I need my money.

question about financial aid? I'll be attending college for the first year this fall. They just posted financial aid awards in our online accounts. This is what i got: Fed Direct Stafford Loan-sub $3,500.00 Fed Direct Stafford Loan-unsub $2,000.00 Federal Supp Educ Opp Grant $1,500.00 Federal Work Study $3,000.00 Federal Pell Grant $5,550.00 Federal Perkins Loan $1,200.00 Total $16,750.00 for the whole year (If i get into the work study) Then this is what the school estimates my total expenses for the whole year will be. Books and Supplies $1,100.00 Fees $1,830.00 Board $2,546.00 Miscellaneous $1,200.00 Personal Expenses $3,194.00 Room $6,644.00 Undergraduate Stafford Fees $50.00 Tuition $6,036.00 Total: $22,600.00 I have about $5850 left that i'd need, which i'm going to get from a student loan my parents are getting. My question is will my financial aid cover the books and fees. I know it covers room & board/tuition, but will it cover my books and other fees for school?
Running Away: Tips and Advice? Well. Me and my best friend are running away. Now before people start telling me "it's not all fun and games" and "your life can't be that bad". I already know this. We're both highly capable, intelligent individuals. We have our supplies ready. Now I won't post a full list, as last time it took up too much space... Basically, we have first aid, flint stone fire starter, each have 2 canteenes, a pocket knife, dust goggles, flak jacket, camelbak gloves, militairy boots, trench knife, daggers and a katana. Now as well as protection, we have money for food, and a book on how to live off the land. Though thats not the whole list, just a rundown. We are trying to build up a small group before we leave. We know the dangers of the outside world, and what we're getting into. I'm not asking for 1,000 replies on why I'm too young or I shouldn't do this. Instead... Please, just some advice for running away, where we should go (coming from Florida) ect? It would really be appreciated. Thank you. Please answer the question. We did not ask you to tell us what we already know. We have been planning this for well over a month, we've thought it through, and are definite on the decision. We are asking for advice, possible places to go, routes, paths, tips, ect, ect. We're kindly asking Yahoo Answers to answer our question, not tell us what we asked you not to tell us. More information for those who wanted to know: Before getting into it, I will say one thing. We aren't planning on leaving any time soon. There are still many supplies to get, a group to gather, a route to plan, a destination to choose. In the future, we will eventually end up in Europe, as that was the original idea. However, it is subject to change. The police will be looking for us, however that's not much of a problem. We will rest during the day, and remain mainly out of the cities due to that reason. Keeping the group small at first is essential, as we plan on recruiting as we travel so that nothing is expected. They won't know that we are growing if other teenagers from other places are leaving. Avoidance is also slightly easy. If we are to change our appearance directly after leaving, it will make it harder and we will become less recognizable. Not definite, but an idea for now. @ US Central States: We do have a route that will take us north, west, northeast, and eventually into Canada, avoiding the major 'Ghetto' areas that could get us shot and killed. (We do plan on getting kevlar. It is easily accessible via Amazon or other online purchasing sites.) From Canada we can stow-away to the UK, then head south into the rest of Europe and plan along the way for further destinations and stops. Before any comments, it is better to stay in Europe, as there are less handguns there if I remember correctly. They are illegal in the UK. I doubt people will have the time to aim a rifle at us when we charge them with blades. Murder is low there anyway, but that's not the point. Yes, we will eventually get guns when we get connections and those who can retrieve them for us. However, we do want to avoid law enforcement as much as possible. This group needs to be hidden and mobile, not a public threat lied about by the media. Odd jobs are ideal. We have plans to make money, and plans to make our own resources. We will learn to cook, skin, boil, and whatever else. I don't feel like elaborating into those, so ect. You make a point of prepaid cell phones. We thought of this, as it is a good idea if the group were to become accidentally separated or by some other cause we would need it to stay together and regroup. On a final note for the mental and physical distress, yes, we understand that people would be hurt. However, the people that would be hurt, there are very few. We do love our family, we do love our friends even though they're annoying, we do love being in a home with clean running water and all of that. However, you would have to know us on a personal level to fully understand the extent of our problems. Anyone can freely comment that it is worse out there than it is here where we are sheltered, educated, watched over, but some of us know that we can do it. There is always the excuse of adventure, but that's a bit immature in my opinion, so I won't stoop there. I am perfectly ready to give up what I have, when I can create so much more, that is even better. There is room for more information if it is needed or wanted.

Will only taking two classes affect my financial aid? I am only going to be taking 2 classes my first semester of college, I did have 3 down but I decided to change the classes I was doing and the 3rd one I wanted to take wouldn't fit my time constraint, and the other one that I could take was at full capacity. How will this affect my financial aid? I have a 3yr old I will have to pick up and take to preschool & as of right now Zero Income, I need that financial aid money to make sure I have everything I need "gas, books, supplies, extras for projects etc,.." to get through college. Right now I have an EFC of 00, and was told I qualify for the FULL Pell Grant, but now only taking 2 classes I am kind of worried. I am thinking about trying to see if I can possibly get an online class at least. Thanks!
Best system for under 700$? http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.644166&cm_sp=DIY_PC_Combos-_-644166-_-Combo&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-RSSDailyDeals-_-na-_-na&AID=10521304&PID=4176827&SID=1rux4r4r536l0 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.722618&cm_sp=DIY_PC_Combos-_-722618-_-Combo&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-RSSDailyDeals-_-na-_-na&AID=10521304&PID=4176827&SID=11ysgj09kbjlo http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.728868&cm_sp=DIY_PC_Combos-_-728868-_-Combo&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-RSSDailyDeals-_-na-_-na&AID=10521304&PID=4176827&SID=39ew4s06abh9 I'll only be using it for less than 3 years(i'll probably sell my computer after 3 years), casual gaming ( RPG games and LOL), i do need something that saves energy though cuz my comp usually runs for like 10+ hrs/day. So I want something that's cheaper-ish, doesn't need to be able to run WOW and crysis 2 on high settings, but sometimes I do like Guild war and stuff on games like Perfect world online. My budget is 900$ for computer, monitor, mouse and keyboard, but I'd like to go under that. I probably won't be overclocking since I don't know how. I like the first one best because I can choose a graphic card, but no mail-in rebate. 2nd one is good, but I think the GTX 560 is a little pricey, power hungry and the power supply is only 550w. 3rd one is good, but its phenom 965, which is old. But then again, it might be good for me since I don't really need a fast CPU like i5 2500.

University of Phoenix financial aid process...Certification of Funds? I started attending the University of Phoenix online in April 2011. I am entering into my last year of classes, but since starting I have had nothing but a hassle when it comes time for me to get my refund from my student loans. I understand the error I made attending this university. I had previously attended Penn State, but after the death of my father I failed some courses and had some issues. The only reason I went to UOP was because it was so easy to get into. I knew I could get in and pull up my GPA before transferring to a better university. However I know feel like i am being forced to stay at UOP. If I do not stay then I will owe for classes and my credits and grades will be held hostage. Back to the point of the financial aid. When I enrolled I told my advisor I would need my refund to purchase a new computer. She stated that would not be an issue. Once my student account was credited the refund balance they would not release it to me. I was told that it was policy to hold the funds for the 30 days to ensure the student would complete classes and not simply take the money. After a lot of hassle and somehow getting to speak to a head person I got my money. The next semester the refund came after 21 days. By UOP policy it should be disbursed to the student after 14 days of crediting to the account. Finally, I wrote my FA adviser (who never returns any of my calls or emails) and told her that I would be contacting legal representation if my money was not disbursed to me in 24 hours (after all I have it in print that it will only be 14 days). My money was disbursed that day. Now, Dec. 5th started my new semester. To date, I have never received an award letter nor has my financial aid been credited to my account. I contacted my academic adviser who contacted my FA adviser. She stated that she sent my file in for certification at the end of November and it would take 4-6 weeks to get my award letter. First, what is this certification? Is it with UOP or Dept of Education? Also, when I began attending I received my award letter in 2 weeks. How could I receive that one so fast? Also, why did she wait until the end of November to send my file for certification? My GPA is 3.75. I have carried all A's and one B. I have never been in jeopardy of being expelled for any issues. And, I have never dropped or transferred any course. I have done a lot research but can find no information on this certification process. This is not the same process of verification through the Dept of Education when they need copies of tax returns and more information. I have had to supply no additional information. My FA adviser stated that my financial aid is fine and I will receive the amounts I am suppose to. However, it needs certified. Are they jerking me around? Is this a real part of the process? Any information on this or any further steps I should take would be greatly appreciated. Like I explained to them, I depend on this money to assist in my survival while I try to better myself. I would like to add for clarification that I have done research and asked different advisers at UOP on the policy of holding the money for 30 days when a student first attends. Everything I have found and been told is that, that is not a UOP policy. I appreciate the information. I apologize because I must not have been clear about them holding my transcripts. Any one I have ever spoken with who have transferred out of UOP has been given a bill. Then, since they supposedly owe the university they can not get the transcripts. I do not understand it honestly. Some of these people would be covered with financial aid and have even dropped between semesters yet they end up being charged.
Financial Aid Process Help? I'm a first time college student & i have NO help with this stuff. First off, What exactly does finanicial aid cover? does it give you just money for the tution and courses, or does it provide supplies, books etc. So, i filled out my FAFSA form and submitted it. It says I "may be eligible to recieve up to 5,550$ in government pell grants" I have already applied to the school i plan on attending (its a community college). i need to take my accuplacer test. I want to start either during the Summer or Fall semester. My question is, what do i now? How do i know exactly how much my finincial aid will cover? Idk how this process works. I know i need to go into the school & talk to them. Also, I'm a stay at home mom. My daughter is 2 months old, my husband works all day so i plan to take a few online courses through my community college. Will my financial aid cover those classes? Lol, i never said i expected them to give me a blank check to fund my education. I simply asked how does the process work. I want to take online courses along with whatever courses I am taking at the college. Also, why would I be asking this question if I had got the information i needed off of the internet. Stop being such an ignorant prick. Lol, i never said i expected them to give me a blank check to fund my education. I simply asked how does the process work. Breastfeeding Question? I am pregnant with my second child and due this summer. I was not able to breastfeed my first due to a lack of milk supply coupled with an extreme illness that I got after my son was born. I am worried about breast feeding this baby and am looking for advice on if there is anything I can do to encourage or make sure my milk comes in? The other issue I have is that I have diagnosed insomnia and cannot sleep without my prescribed sleeping pills. I am wondering if there is any sleeping aid you can take while breast feeding ( I take unisom while pregnant as it is the same ingredient in diclectin and my doctor has given me permission). I read online that there are some sleeping pills that metabolize fast and can be out of your system for the night time feed. Pumping during the day is also an option, but since I know I have a milk supply issue I would rather not have to offer a bottle at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
How does my financial aid package look? So I went online to my college student account and I see that they financial aid package. The COA is: $16,562 EFC: $1,128 Direct Sub Loan: $1,750 a semester totaling to $3,500 Work-Study: $1,515 a semester totaling to $3,030 Pell Grant: $2,200 a semester totaling to $4,400 That adds up to $10,930. I also have a scholarship that adds up to $4,500 I looked at the COA on the website & here's their estimates: Books & Supplies: $1,410 Miscellaneous: $1,568 Room & Board: $5,976 Tuition & Fees: $6,528 Travel Expenses: $1,080 Now I don't have a car so I don't think I'll have to really worry about travel expenses. I'll just have my parents pick me up during breaks. So that's $1,000 or so deducted from the COA. I have no idea what 'miscellaneous' is when it relates to college expenses so I could also deduct that, therefore saving me about $2000+. I know my parents won't be paying for college at all so now that I've deducted these costs, do you think the EFC would really matter? It appears that my first year is pretty much paid for.
