First Aid Certification Knowledge Base
Where can I get certification for CPR and First Aid? I want to take a CPR Course with my brother (who wants to be a cop) and get my CPR/First Aid Card. However, I'm not sure where to go to find this sort of training. I have talked to the Red Cross, but the only one in town is sort of run down so I'm looking for other ideas? Do you have CPR/First Aid Certification? Can I get this from a local fire department? Thanks for your knowledge! We are in the Vancouver, Washington area. (sort of near Portland, Oregon)
How to get CPR and or first aid certification, etc? I live in NJ and am in High School. I would like to be certified in CPR and First Aid and ANYTHING ELSE I CAN. How would I go about doing this? Again, beside first aid and CPR is there anything else that I can be certified in? Lastly, I do NOT want to be an EMT at all, I want to become a surgeon, but that is beside the point so just answer my question please.
CPR - First Aid Certification, where can I go to get them other than Red Cross? A few years ago when I taught Pre School we always had a slip of paper that had a long list of classes for CPR and First Aid. Now that I'm no longer teaching I'm wondering how I get that same list of classes offered (many more than just at the RedCross). Does anyone know how I can find a list of classes in the Cleveland area?

CPR & First aid certification...? Did you get certified in 1st Aid and CPR before the birth of your child? I definitely recommend it now if not. I got certified, coincidentally, while I was at Academy to be a police dispatcher when I was about 4 months pregnant. I have to be honest that I kind of forgot everything lol but I had to get re-certified this week and it's amazing the things you wish you knew! I made my husband come to work and take it wish us and he's pretty glad he did. He didn't even have the slightest clue how to perform basic life-saving functions on our daughter if she ever needed it. 'WITH' us, not 'wish' us hehe.
CPR/ First Aid Certification (10 points)? I'm 14, and I'm hoping to make a few bucks babysitting. I live in New Jersey, and there is no hospital, college, or Red Cross around so there goes that idea. I already missed the classes at my school so it's too late. I really need this. Please, and ideas would be great! Thank you!
CPR/First Aid/AED Certification Online? Is there an online course that will legally and legitimately get you qualified for CPR, First Aid and AED? And I'm looking for like a beginner course, not a renewal course.
CPR and First Aid clases at the American Red Cross? So how does the whole CPR and First Aid classes at the American Red Cross thing work? Like what kinds of things do they teach you? And what does First Aid and CPR certification allow you to do that people without certification cannot?
What kind of certification do you need to be a teachers aid? And what are their responsiblities? I have been going to college for almost five years now to be a teacher, but I am getting no where fast because I had to work 40 hours or more a week the first two years. Now they say I have 3 more left. I think it's time for me to reconsider other options. I want to start a family soon. Any advice or infor would be a blessing. Thanks.
My brother needs aid to pay for his certification as a music teacher. Are there any sources we can consider? He has gone back to college after spending the last few years as a rock mucisian, and has completed the program, but the money is a problem. We are looking for a way to make up the additional $4800 he needs to pay this off without loans. As a young teacher, it certainly seems like there should be something out there. He does have a degree in music education, but needed to finish his certifications to actually be able to teach. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where we can look? Thanks!
First aid and CPR certifications online? I ran into a few websites that offer free first aid and CPR certifications online, do people really honor these? They say their standards are the same as the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association, except for the fact that you do all the training online.
Where can I go for a free First Aid and CPR course (online)? I am about 15 years old and am trying to get a certification for CPR and First Aid, but everywhere I go, I can take the test free and the certificate is what costs. I would like to know where I can go for a free certificate along with a free course. Thanks!
How can I earn my HIV/AIDS Certification? Hi - I'm not a Nurse, but I need to earn my Certification in HIV/AIDS Awareness. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd love to do an online course, but I'm also willing to do a course at a campus, hospital, clinic, etc. (I'm in the NY Metro Area). Please let me know if you have any pointers! Thanks so much!
Financial Aid for Certification Programs? I'm working towards my undegrad, but in the meantime I thought that I could bang-out an IT certification program in a few months to make some decent money while I finish up my degree. The sticker price on the program is $16,000 after exam costs. Are there any federal loans/grants that are offered for such programs?
Please help me with NURSES AID certification question? I took the CNA course/clinical at a hospital nursing school 6 years ago and earned my diploma. It was a pre-req for the RN program, which I began but I had to put it on hold to raise my family. 2 kids later...I worked part time at a mental health facility tutoring patients. I never actually took the certification for my CNA after I got my diploma. In the state of NJ, can I be eligible to take the CNA board exam for certification without repeating the class even though it has been 6 years? I can't find any information where it gives a time limit for this, there is only info for time limits after you are CNA certified. My cousin is a dr and I can brush up my clinical skills with him if this is a possibility that I can just take the exam... I really believe I can pass the exam. I also can't find any CNA courses around me (the hospital nursing school only offers it for pre-RN students) One day I do want to become an RN still, but this is just a first step after being a stay-at-home Mom for so long! Thank you for any help or do you know what number I can call to get this info? Thank you.
How can I become certified in CPR and First Aid? I need my certification in CPR and First Aid before I can start my new job. I have looked some Red Cross centers in my area, but there are no classes available in the next two weeks. Where else can I get a valid certification? (I'm from NJ if that helps!)

Is it the same to get your CPR/First Aid certification online? I am thinking about getting CPR and First Aid certified online, but I am not sure if it is the same as if I took a class in person. Has anyone taken one of these classes? If so, and you recommend it, where is a good place to do it? I was previously a lifeguard so I have been certified twice before this, so I am very familiar with how things work.
Where should a Wanna-Be Cop get certified for CPR/First Aid? I want to take a class on CPR and First Aid with my brother. My brother is wanting to be a cop within the next year. So, I am wondering where is the best place to go to get certification in CPR and First Aid? We are in the Vancouver, Washington area. Any additional certifications you would recommend for a police force hopeful?

What training/visa requirements do i need to become an au-pair? Im a 22 yr old college graduate, and I really hate my office job. I have a passion for taking care of kids, and Im thinking about becoming an au-pair in Europe. As an American, I know that there are certain things I need to do before that can happen, but I really dont know where I should start. I have CPR and first Aid Certification, but I know that I gotta have more knowledge in order to be accepted by a family. Do au-pair classes exist? I bought a book entitled "An Aupair & Nannies Guide To Working Abroad", but I would like to know if there's a class thats offered before presenting myself to any agency. Any suggestions? Please help.
What Kind Of License/Certification Can I Obtain To Get A Job? Hi, i'm an 18 year old male living in Arizona and i've been interested in obtaining a license/certification of some sort which can give me more credentials as well as professionalism in my resume - due to me struggling to find a job.. Now i've looked at insurance licenses although it seems you need to be sponsored by a company first to proceed in getting them (in other words scratch that). Lately i've been thinking simple maybe going with First aid certification just to gain credential (shows responsibility right?). I already have possessed a food handlers license (that should get me that good ole fast food job :X) though as i'm aiming for elevated, i've lately been thinking more computer side, maybe becoming A+ certified (does anyone know if that's a good start or would something easier be a good first step such as learning java-script first or just indulging myself with Linux commands?) Sorry if i just bundled three-four question in one by the way but Thank you for your help and also i understand you don't know my backround thus making this a difficult question/s so if you could just go in a general motive or experience that would be extremely helpful thank you again. -Shaun

What do I need to do to get Certification I and II for working in childcare...? And where do I go to get started on this? I have over two years experience as a nanny, as well as many years as a babysitter, but I am thinking of working in a childcare center. Most I have come across require Certification I and II, and some require first aid/cpr (which I know I can get recertified through Red Cross). I can't find a site that talks about the required certifications, though. Any help appreciated!
First aid training questions? I've got a couple question relating to first aid training. 1. I've got CPR certification and in the course, we went over AED stuff, not for certification though. If AEDs are so easy to use, why are there certification courses for them? What do they cover in the course, its really straight forward, isn't it? You do what the machine says, right? 2. How long/much $ are AED courses? 3. What more do BLS courses cover than CPR/AED courses? Don't CPR/AED pretty much cover basic life support? 4. How long are BLS courses, how much $, and is there an age requirment? 5. Just curious, how comprehensive are EMT-B (Basic/1st level etc) courses, how long, and how much? I'm in New York.
CPR and First aid course? I signed up for a Red Cross first aid, cpr, and aed course. The whole course is 8 hours. Does anybody know if those 8 hours include taking the certification tests? or will i have to take the certification tests on my own?
Salary for live OUT Nanny in The Netherlands? Hi, I have an interview on Monday for a full time position, M-F 9am to 6-6:30 pm Their son is 2 months old. I have no idea what to ask for salary wise. I would take public transport to their house daily, and I'm sure some light housework would be involved. Thanks!
C.N.A. / Nurse Aid certification programs in Dallas, TX? Im interested in enrolling in a program that could teach me what I need to pass the certification test in Texas to become a CNA/ Nurse Aid but I want to make sure I go to a good school that will TRULY prepare me for it and not some place that is only interested in making money then leave you hanging. If you know of any school or institution that I should check out or one that I should AVOID please let me know. I would prefer for someone to answer me who has actually been through it but all answers would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. p.s. I know of two place here in Dallas; one is Hearts In Training and the other is CTK Healthcare but I have not found very much input on either of these schools.
Do you need a CPR/AED first aid certification for your massage therapy license? I already have my license, but is it required to renew it every year to keep it? I can't find that specific answer anywhere. I live in Arizona, so it would be nice if therapists from Arizona answer. I graduated in '07 and then decided not to do it, but things changed in my life and now I want to start doing it again. But I don't have any information anymore.
Higher levels of first aid? I have basic CPR and first aid certification and I was wondering if there are higher levels of training. I don't want nursing training or some thing like that but training that could be used in the woods or just on the street. I live near Waltham MA in case anyone knows a program in that area.
Is my CPR/First Aid Certification Void? I took a CPR/First Aid class to become certified. (I did it for personal reasons, nothing work related). Well, they send you a card in the mail to flash people incase you do end up having to use your skills, and on the card they spelt my name wrong. It was only a letter off, but still, does this make the certification void? This may sound silly, but people are sue happy these days, and if its void, and I'm not protected under Good Submaritan (which comes with the certification) I could be in trouble.
how can i get certified first responder training in NYS? I have my CPR, choking and basic first aid certifications from the american heart association, and I heard about an intermediate level First Aid training (CFR), but I was wondering how to get it. Does the AHA or the red cross administer the Certified First Responder training program? How would I get this certification? If it helps I live in NYS.

CPR and First Aid certification? I got certified last year in a class at school, but this year they aren't offering it and my twin brother decided he wants to get certified now. Can you do it online without paying A LOT of money? If so, can you take the tests online too, or do you have to go somewhere for that? Any info would be great. Well, I looked it up and there was something about the Red Cross offering online courses, but I didn't think it seemed right either. Which... is WHY I asked. I'm not an idiot.
Online class for CPR/AED and First Aid certification? I want to get CPR/AED and First Aid Certified, but all the training courses for my state are pretty far away. I found an online course, http://cprcare.com/, has anyone used this site? Is it good enough for certification? Any other site recommendations?
Should I get First Aid certification (to become flight attendant)? I am interested in becoming a flight attendant; I have applied at a couple different places and received calls back. I'm also interested in getting certified in First Aid -- it takes one 8-hour class at the Red Cross to get certified. I just think it would be a good skill to have on its own, plus could bolster my chances of landing the F.A. job. But is it even necessary? Flight attendants have to go through a 4-week training period; I'm guessing there must be a good amount of first aid covered there. However, I would like to be certified whether or not I get the job. Any thoughts?
CPR and First Aid certification? I am getting my CPR and First Aid certification this saturday. Do you know of any good websites that would give me the information I need to pass the First Aid portion because when I go to the building, I am just taking the test? Thank you for your time :)
Can you help me get pathogen and First Aid certification for piercing apprenticeship? Hi Im 17 and Im trying to pay for passing my bloodborne pathogen and first aid exams. Places to get a CPR and First Aid Certification? I use to be certified from the Red Cross for CPR and First Aid but both of them expired so I got to get recertified. My question are their ANY other places that offer the certificate? I know American Heart Society does it. And I found some other classes that offer First Aid and CPR certification classes. Does it really matter where you take the class? Or is the Red Cross the most reliable one? Theirs so many out where I live, I just want to know if its the same as Red Cross or if its different? Will it matter? I just like to be certified to have the skill. Its a good skill that everyone should learn. Its not a hard certification to obtain and it looks good on a resume. Thats the only reason why I have it. I dont need it for work or anything. Im not planning on going into the medical field or anything either. I just want it for the skill thats all and I would like to keep it up to date.
CPR/ First Aid Certification-- Same as Professional License or Certificates? I am currently working on an application to graduate school, and it asks for professional licenses as certificates. I am both CPR and First Aid certified, but I don't think that is the type of certification they are looking for. However before disregarding it, I figured I would ask and see if anybody knew if it counted or not. Thanks!
Do I have to renew my First Aid Certification in order to get my Massage Therapy License in Illinois? I'm taking my Massage Therapist NCBTMB exam in mid november and applying for my license shortly after. Where I went to school first aid certification was a requirement for the program but I don't see it anywhere in the IDFPR license application. Also, if it is a requirement, which certifications are required? I was certified in Basic First Aid for 3 years and Adult/Infant CPR/AED for one year. Do I have to obtain all 3 or can I just do the basic First aid?
CPR/First Aid certification?? What places in Queens/Nassau/Long Island/Manhattan(Manhattan is the last preferred), New York offer Cpr/First Aid certification for teens age 15? ANd for a not so crazy price? American Red Cross offers it, but for 105$$+ Any places you know?
When can I expect my CPR/First Aid certification in the mail? I took a CPR/First Aid class at my college last semester, and I filled out something with my address so that my certification card will be sent to me. I finished the class in December, and I still haven't gotten anything in the mail yet. I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of how long it might take to get here before I ask my instructor about it. Thanks! Dan- Yeah, I would think that since I passed the class then I would have passed the test. But I'll ask my teacher to see what's up.
