Is there any place in Columbus Ohio to get free First Aid and CPR training? I'm going to be going camping/rafting with a bunch of friends in a month or so. I'd love to learn first aid and cpr before the trip just in case. However, I look up the Red Cross, and they want something like $72. I have... $2 in my bank account. Are there any places that will train for free? Thanks!

I own a first aid training company...? if you wanted to take a first aid course, would you be more interested in taking the course if it was shorter and more to the point than other longer first aid courses? On-Line first aid training? I'm looking into getting some first-aid training and I see that on-line classes are offered. Has anyone been first-aid/CPR certified this way? If so, can you reccomend a good site? I am not in the health care field. I'm on the Board for my kid's little league. First aid isn't a requirement, but I'd like to take it anyway.
First aid training questions? I've got a couple question relating to first aid training. 1. I've got CPR certification and in the course, we went over AED stuff, not for certification though. If AEDs are so easy to use, why are there certification courses for them? What do they cover in the course, its really straight forward, isn't it? You do what the machine says, right? 2. How long/much $ are AED courses? 3. What more do BLS courses cover than CPR/AED courses? Don't CPR/AED pretty much cover basic life support? 4. How long are BLS courses, how much $, and is there an age requirment? 5. Just curious, how comprehensive are EMT-B (Basic/1st level etc) courses, how long, and how much? I'm in New York.

What is the best training aid you would suggest for a beginner? I started playing golf about 4 months ago. I play a round almost every weekend. I'm looking to improve my game, i shoot around 95 a round. My worst aspect is driving. I'm tired of watching the golf channel and seeing all the ads for the "greatest training aid ever!" and hearing how many pga players us it. Anyone out there that has started out like me and improved using a training aid??
where can i get first aid/cpr training? I live in Woonsocket, RI. I can't seem to find out where I can get certified. Local hospitals? Pet First Aid and CPR Training? I live in Mesa, Arizona...eastern most part of Mesa. I'm looking for Pet First Aid and CPR training classes that I can attend. Does anyone know of anyone whose offering them? or know of any organizations offering the course? Thank you! I've tried to google it, with several of the pet day care organizations in and around my area. I've also tried the American Red Cross organizations nearby, no such luck. I know it exists. Ok this is obnoxious. I know there are classes out there to be offered, nobody is offering them. I tried my last resort: Petsmart and they said there are no such courses. Wow...of all places petsmart says there's no such course? That makes me want to think twice about shopping there.

Is there a golf training aid that can improve keeping a right-hand players left-hand straight? This is my first year playing golf and I don't want to develop bad habits. I am a 25 handicap and I just learned how to pitch a ball although I can't yet control it's distance. Anyways, I can drive the ball 275 yards 6 times out of 18, so the potential is there at times. However, almost everyone I play w/ tells me that I am bending my left hand too much. Does anyone know of an aid or trick that can help me w/ this? Will lessons be useful or is it all mental? Thanks for your time and assistance!
Shoulde there be compulsary first aid training for all learner drivers? Im trying to call for first aid courses to be made compulsory for all learner drivers following a series P-plater and learner drive road fatalities I believe this is essential given new research which has found that only seven percent of Australians feel very confident in administering first aid at serious road accidents where people are injured. On average five people die on Australian roads each day. As with any serious accident the first few minutes are crucial and the key to saving more lives is to ensure more bystanders and witnesses are equipped with the skills to help others. When it comes to car accidents, often the first on the scene will be another driver,” Road crashes are the biggest killer of people aged between 18 and 25 years. “It is scary to think that we can put young adults on the road equipped with the skills to drive but not with the knowledge to know what to do in an accident. Simple things like knowing how to put people in the recovery position and conducting CPR should be common knowledge for all people using our roads,” I will be trying to lobby the government to put forward this case. If i can try to get all young drivers to complete a first aid course as part of their license requirements we will effectively be saving lives,” your thoughts please???
Super confused about First Aid and CPR Training...? Hey, first of all, thanks for checking out my question. OK, so I work at this place where one of the job requirements are to have Emergency First aid and CPR level C. I have no training in any of these areas, but they hired me knowing this and I always work with people that have this training. I just got my Summer work schedule and it turns out I am going to be working alone now, starting mid-July. I feel it's in my best interest to get certified now that I will be working alone. My questions are: 1. I am required to have Emergency First Aid training, but I have checked my local Saint Johns Ambulance and the course for Standard First Aid training is twice as long, but only $10 extra. I figure I might as well get that instead, but does that mean Standard First Aid outranks the Emergency First Aid? Meaning, f I have Standard First Aid, does that mean I am more than qualified, or does that mean that I need to also get Emergency First Aid? 2. I also need CPR Level C. Is This included in my First Aid Training? If not, how long does this course usually take for and how much (ballpark figure is OK) does it usually cost? 3. Where I work there is an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Am I also trained to use this when I am trained in EFA/SFA? If not, is there any way I can get trained to use this, or does it even require training? If it helps, I live in Canada and work with children and infants. Thanks, and sorry for all of the questions! :)
How can I improve my athletic training (first aid, bandaging, etc.) skills? Ok so I'm a new student trainer at my high school. I love health care but I feel like I'm a nuisance because I'm always hounding the athletes about their conditions because I care about them and their health. I also not that great at taping, bandaging, and stuff like that. I'm First Aid certified, but that's slightly different. How can I improve and regain the athletes' confidence?
What is the easiest way to get CPR first aid training? Where can I buy a weighted vest training aid in the UAE? I live in Dubai in the UAE and I was wondering if there are any places here I could buy a weighted vest training aid to increase the intensity of my exercises. I've already found dozens that I could order from the US online but the costs of shipping are more expensive than the actual products themselves. Can anyone living in this country help me out?
Do match officials in football receive first-aid training? Looking at the Ramsey incident, it looks like Whelan's the only person on the pitch with any idea of the right things to do. Massive praise to him, of course, but ultimately the referee is in charge of the game, and I was surprised that the referee and other officials weren't supervising the care of Ramsey until the medical team reached him. If match officials aren't first-aid trained, do you think there's an argument for them being so?
Is it wise to say this at a first aid training session? The other day I was teaching colleagues how to do CPR, so I started by saying: " CPR is one the skills that we should learn, but we hope that we never have to use - this is how to save a fellow human's life". Then I started the training... I felt the attendees took that well, but now I'm not sure if it's an appropriate thing to say at the start of training... What do you think?

Can my Job require CPR/First Aid training and require me to pay for it? My workplace is stating that I have to have it or i'll be taken off of the schedule until it is completed. I work at an aftercare program with children and my card has been expired for a couple months and they are telling me i am responsible for the cost and the time. Can they take me off the schedule? It seems like it isn't legal.

Would first aid training help job prospects? I'm planning on taking a first aid course an I was wondering whether being first aid trained would give me an edge when going for a job. I'm in full time education at the moment, so the only jobs I'll be going for will be part time or summer, probably in shops or fast food places. Would being first aid trained improve my prospects?
